Job description

Objective

Engage an experienced conversion-focused copywriter to strengthen website and sales copy for an early-stage credit repair technology company. The primary objective is to improve conversion by building trust, addressing customer objections and questions, setting appropriate expectations, and guiding prospective customers more effectively toward purchase.

Profile Overview

The ideal writer is a highly skilled sales and conversion copywriter with experience in financial services, credit repair, fintech, or another trust-sensitive consumer industry.

The writer should understand how language influences customer behavior and be able to identify and address pain points, questions, expectations, and objections that affect purchasing decisions.

Strong sales copy samples will be the primary consideration when evaluating candidates. Preference will be given to writers who can also demonstrate measurable results from their work, such as improvements in purchases, conversions, or other sales outcomes.

Previous experience writing advertorials and email recovery flows is a significant plus.

All work must be written by the writer without the use of generative AI or AI-assisted writing tools.

Scope

  • Commitment: 5 hours per week / 22 hours per month

  • Develop or optimize landing page copy as needed.
  • Identify and address customer pain points, objections, questions, and purchasing triggers.
  • Strengthen trust throughout the customer journey through persuasive, credible language.
  • Improve messaging throughout the signup process to better align customer expectations before reaching the payment stage.
  • Write conversion-focused copy designed to reduce drop-off and support sales.
  • Potentially create advertorial-style copy.
  • Develop email recovery and conversion flows as needed.
  • Write press releases when required.
  • Collaborate directly with the client on positioning, messaging, and conversion strategy.
  • Maintain a transparent writing workflow and, when requested, provide document/version history demonstrating the development of the work.
  • Produce all copy without generative AI or AI-assisted writing.

  • Ability to research customer pain points and translate insights into persuasive messaging.
  • Ability to explain the strategy and reasoning behind copy decisions.
  • Strong preference for candidates who can provide measurable performance results from previous copy, including conversion or purchase outcomes.
  • Advertorial writing experience is a plus.
  • Email flow/recovery experience is a strong plus.
  • Press release experience is beneficial.

About the Client

The client is an early-stage credit repair technology company developing an AI-first platform designed to make the credit dispute process more accessible and affordable for consumers.

The company helps users identify potential problems in their credit reports and navigate the dispute process without relying on expensive traditional credit repair services. As the company grows, its immediate focus is strengthening its conversion funnel and ensuring its messaging creates trust, sets appropriate expectations, addresses objections, and effectively communicates the value of the service.
