Enterprise Technology Engineer – SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP)

Role Summary

We are looking for an Enterprise Technology Engineer to support the operation and continuous improvement of bp's SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), now also known as Business AI Platform (BAIP), landscape.

The role will provide hands-on exposure to SAP BTP services, integrations, identity and access management, platform monitoring, incident support, and automation while working under the guidance of expert engineers and architects.

The successful candidate will chip in to the support and administration of SAP BTP services, assist development teams with deployments and connectivity, and help maintain secure, reliable, and compliant platform environments. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop expertise across SAP cloud technologies while chipping in to major business and transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

SAP BTP Platform Support

Support the administration and day-to-day operation of SAP Business Technology Platform services.

Assist with platform configuration, tenant administration, and service enablement activities.

Help maintain Cloud Foundry environments, Neo environments and SAP SaaS services.

Support application teams with onboarding, deployments, and platform-related requests.

Chip in to platform documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge articles.

Integration Support

• Assist in the implementation and support of integrations using SAP Integration Suite.
• Support connectivity between SAP and non-SAP systems.
• Help configure and maintain: Cloud Integration, API Management, Sophisticated Event Mesh
• Assist with tackle integration issues and supervising interface performance.
• Support secure connectivity through SAP Cloud Connector and destination configurations including understanding of concepts like Principal propagation

Identity & Access Management

• Assist with user administration, role management, and access requests across SAP BTP services.
• Support identity and authentication services including Single Sign-On (SSO).
• Chip in to the implementation of authentication mechanisms such as: SAML, JWT, OAuth, Technical user authentication
• Work with security and support teams to address access and security-related requests.

Monitoring & Operational Support

• Supervise platform health and performance using tools such as SAP Cloud ALM.
• Support incident investigation and problem resolution activities.
• Assist with operational reporting, alert management, and system health checks.
• Help identify recurring issues and chip in to continuous improvement initiatives.

Automation & DevOps Learning

• Assist in maintaining and improving deployment and operational automation.
• Develop foundational skills in automation technologies such as:
  • Node.js
  • Shell scripting
  • CI/CD pipelines
• Support automated deployment and platform management activities under guidance from senior engineers.
• Chip in ideas to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.

Platform Services Support

Provide support for services including:, SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), SAP Integration Suite, SAP API Management, SAP Build Work Zone, SAP Cloud Identity Services, SAP Analytics Cloud, SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud integrations, SAP Joule

Documentation & Governance

Maintain user documentation, support guides, and operational procedures.

Follow established platform, architecture, and security standards.

Assist in ensuring solutions align with governance and compliance requirements.

Chip in to the development of reusable documentation and support materials.

Collaboration & Partner Engagement

Work closely with engineers, architects, developers, security teams, and service partners.

Assist with technical issue resolution involving SAP and other vendors.

Support platform upgrades, testing activities, and adoption of new platform capabilities.

Participate in knowledge-sharing and team learning initiatives.

Project Delivery Support

Chip in to project activities involving SAP BTP and related SAP technologies.

Support implementation, testing, deployment, and transition-to-support activities.

Work under guidance from senior engineers and architects to deliver secure and reliable solutions.

Gain exposure to enterprise-scale SAP transformation and modernization programs.

Required Skills & Experience

Experience

Approximately 3-5 years of demonstrated ability in SAP technology, platform support, system administration, or cloud engineering roles.

Exposure to SAP cloud technologies and enterprise application platforms.

Experience supporting business-critical applications and services.

Technical Knowledge

Demonstrable understanding of one or more of the following:

SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), SAP Integration Suite, SAP API Management, SAP Build Work Zone, SAP Cloud Connector, SAP Analytics Cloud, SAP Identity Services, SAP S/4HANA integrations, SAP Datasphere

Basic understanding of:

Single Sign-On (SSO), SAML, OAuth, JWT, Networking concepts, High Availability and Disaster recovery, Cloud platform operations, SAP Business AI capabilities and emerging AI technologies within the SAP ecosystem, including awareness of tools such as SAP Joule, and generative AI concepts

Automation & Tooling

• Exposure to scripting or automation technologies such as Node.js, JavaScript, or Shell scripting.
• Familiarity with source control tools such as Git.
• Awareness of CI/CD concepts and DevOps practices.

Soft Skills

• Strong analytical and fix skills.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and cloud platforms.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a distributed team environment.
• Strong documentation and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• SAP BTP certification or willingness to pursue certification.
• Exposure to SAP Cloud ALM.
• Experience supporting cloud-based applications or services.
• Knowledge of SAP ecosystem technologies and integration concepts.
• Exposure to SAP Joule and a willingness to learn
