About Marine Underwriters of America: 


Marine Underwriters of America is a leading specialty marine MGA, providing underwriting expertise across ocean marine, inland marine, and related property risks for both commercial and recreational clients. The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of DOXA. 


About the Role


We are seeking a strategic Senior Marine Underwriter to drive profitable growth across our marine portfolio. You will operate with broad underwriting authority, lead critical broker relationships, influence product innovation, and play a pivotal role in scaling a specialized marine business within a growth-focused organization.


Job Responsibilities

  • Underwrite profitable new and renewal business
  • Relationship Building and Management of Assigned Agents
  • Review and handle policy servicing requests
  • Review inspection reports and compare to information gathered during the underwriting process to determine if appropriate actions are necessary
  • Continuing Education to obtain and maintain licensing
  • Sales and marketing
Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree or appropriate insurance designation.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the commercial marine underwriting space or similar experience required. 
  • Product knowledge of marine general liability, hull/P&I, excess and marine property products.
  • Regional marine market knowledge. National marine market knowledge a plus.
  • Must have the ability to use company automation including Microsoft Products.
  • Ability to work extended hours as necessary.
  • Strong communication and writing skills. 
  • Motivated, self-starter.

Salary Description
$100,000-$175,000 + Discretionary Bonus
