Job description

Come and push your journey to the next level!

At Immense Group, we are guided by our core values of passionboldness, and integrity. We strive to create an environment where our people thrive, driven by a love for innovation and a commitment to delivering exceptional player experiences. If you’re passionate about iGaming and tech development bold in your approach, and act with integrity, we’d love for you to join our team as a AI Team Lead.

A taste of what you’ll do

As AI Team Lead, you will drive the design, delivery, and adoption of AI-powered solutions across the business — from RPA and process automation to LLM-based tooling and integrations — while leading, coaching, and mentoring a team of AI and Software Engineers. You'll combine hands-on technical leadership with strong judgment on where AI genuinely adds value, working in a fast-moving environment to deliver solutions with real business impact.

  • Owning the team's technical strategy and roadmap for AI adoption, automation, and tooling, in partnership with business stakeholders.
  • Leading, hiring, coaching, and mentoring a team of AI and Software Engineers, owning their performance, development, and career growth
  • Translating business priorities into a resourced, prioritised delivery plan, and reporting on progress, risk, and capacity to leadership
  • Owning key architectural and design decisions for AI-driven systems the team builds or adopts, ensuring scalability, security, and maintainability
  • Evaluating AI tools, models, and vendors (e.g. LLM providers, RPA platforms) and owning build-vs-buy and cost/risk trade-offs for AI usage across engineering
  • Setting and driving adoption of engineering best practices across the team — code quality, testing, review standards, and responsible use of AI tooling
  • Acting as an escalation point for technical blockers, cross-team dependencies, and delivery risk
  • Partnering with other Team Leads to share standards, avoid duplicated effort, and align on approach
  • Staying current on emerging AI/LLM developments and judging what's genuinely worth adopting versus what's hype
  • Any other task or responsibility that may be related and/or connected to the role of AI Team Lead

Who and what we are after?

  • Proven experience leading or managing a team of engineers, including hiring, coaching, and performance management
  • 5+ years of experience in AI, machine learning, or automation, including at least 2 years in a leadership or team lead capacity
  • Experience directing or overseeing AI/LLM-based initiatives or automation programmes
  • Comfortable working with senior stakeholders and leadership, translating technical and AI concepts into terms non-technical audiences can act on
  • Experience evaluating vendors, tools, or build-vs-buy decisions against cost, capability, and risk
  • Working knowledge of modern software engineering practices (version control, code review, testing, CI/CD) sufficient to set and enforce standards
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Excellent time management and prioritisation skills, with the ability to balance multiple team priorities at once
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
