The opportunity

As we continue to increase our ability to support family caregivers at scale, the teams that support this mission are also growing. We are seeking a dynamic, results-driven Medical Billing Manager to oversee and scale our multi-state revenue cycle operations. In this role, you will lead a high-volume billing team, optimize revenue collection, and design the blueprint for new state launches.

Team oriented and results-driven, you are equally comfortable leading the work of others as you are rolling up your sleeves in order to see strong outcomes. You’re adept at leading teams, managing high claim volumes across multiple states, and seamlessly collaborating with internal stakeholders like Clinical, Care Operations, and Expansion to support rapid growth. While Home Health experience is a major plus, it is not a dealbreaker. What you’ll work on

• Team Leadership & Supervision: Directly manage, mentor, and elevate the medical billing team. Set clear KPIs, conduct performance reviews, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

• Multi-State Revenue Cycle Management: Oversee the end-to-end billing and collections process across multiple states, ensuring strict compliance with varying state Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial payer regulations.

• High-Volume Claim Optimization: Manage a high volume of daily claims, proactively identifying bottlenecks, reducing denial rates, and optimizing the clean claim rate (CCR).

• Expansion & Process Creation: Design, document, and implement standardized billing workflows and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for new state launches and market entries.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the core liaison between the billing department and other key business units:

  • Clinical: Ensure documentation meets medical necessity and coding compliance guidelines.

  • Care Operations: Streamline intake-to-billing workflows to reduce front-end errors.

  • Expansion: Provide regulatory and payer insights to ensure smooth operational rollouts in new territories.

• Reporting & Analytics: Track and report on key financial metrics (e.g., Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), aging buckets, denial trends) to executive leadership.

What you’ll have:

• Experience: Minimum of 4+ years of experience in medical billing, with at least 2+ years in a supervisory or managerial role is required

• Multi-State Expertise: Proven track record of managing billing operations across a multi-state footprint, navigating diverse state-specific regulations and payer landscapes.

• Volume Capability: Experience thriving in a fast-paced, high-volume claims environment (e.g., electronic health records, clearinghouses, clearing complex denials at scale).

• Systems Savvy: Advanced proficiency with medical billing software, EHR/EMR systems, and clearinghouses (e.g., Waystar, Availity). Excellent Excel/data skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Home Health, Hospice, or Community-Based Care billing is highly preferred.

• Prior experience in a startup or fast-growing healthcare company, specifically helping launch new markets or states.
