Position Overview:

FUJIFILM Electronic Materials, U.S.A., Inc., is a global leader in chemical solutions which enable the semiconductor industry and the digital universe. We have an exciting opportunity at our Mesa, AZ facility for a UI5 Solutions Architect Lead!

 

The Role

 

This role is responsible for supporting and managing the Electronic Batch Sheet System (SAP MII) and key users within FEUS. The Lead will drive the implementation of new development and improvement projects aimed at automating manual data entry and data manipulation processes to meet evolving customer demands. The position requires occasional travel across all sites.

 

As a leadership role, it involves guiding and mentoring team members to achieve excellence, providing weekly updates to the Applications Manager, and demonstrating exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills to manage distributed teams and effectively liaise with stakeholders at all levels.

Job Description:

Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Research new technology developments and remain abreast of industry standards and best practices in SAP MII. Analyze potential impact on company systems and share the impact with IT team/business process owners of actions needed or other recommendations.
  • Lead and oversee all SAP MII and UI5 development activities across multiple sites (currently 1, expanding to 2+ simultaneously).
  • Provide strategic technical leadership and direction for front-end and back-end development efforts, ensuring alignment with business goals and scalability requirements.
  • Architect and design enterprise-grade SAP UI5 applications with a focus on user experience, performance, and maintainability.
  • Manage and mentor a team of Level 1 and Level 2 UI5 Solutions Architects, conducting regular 1:1 meetings to support professional growth and performance.
  • Drive best practices in software development, code quality, and deployment processes across all sites.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional leadership, product managers, and stakeholders to define project scope, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Lead troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization efforts for complex applications.
  • Adopt a culture of continuous learning and innovation by staying current with emerging SAP technologies, web development trends, and industry standards.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and technical training sessions within the team.
  • Ensure effective communication and coordination between geographically distributed teams.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize business requirements.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • 10+ years of professional experience in SAP MII and UI5 full-stack development, with demonstrated leadership in multi-site environments.
  • Proven track record of leading development teams and delivering enterprise-scale SAP UI5 solutions.
  • Deep expertise in SAP MII frameworks, SAP PCo, OPC servers, and PLC integration.
  • Advanced skills in front-end technologies: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, XML, and related frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge of database systems (SQL and NoSQL) and API design.
  • Extensive experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, with ability to lead Agile ceremonies and processes.
  • Excellent leadership, mentoring, and interpersonal skills, with experience conducting 1:1 meetings and performance reviews.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of engaging with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
  • This position will require up to 20% travel to company manufacturing facilities.
