Job Description:

Job Duck is seeking an experienced Bilingual Legal Assistant to join a dynamic legal team and provide comprehensive support across litigation matters and daily legal operations. In this role, you will play a critical part in maintaining organized case files, managing communications, coordinating deadlines, and supporting attorneys throughout the legal process. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of handling sensitive information with professionalism and discretion. Success in this position requires strong communication skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to delivering exceptional client service. Compensation Range: 1150 USD to 1220 USD

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Accurately transcribe attorney dictation into written documents
  • Assess potential matters and establish professional rapport with prospective clients
  • Assist with litigation preparation, exhibits, and evidence organization
  • Support attorneys during trial preparation and proceedings
  • Prioritize and manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced legal environment
  • Ensure legal documents are completed accurately and submitted on time
  • Prepare pleadings, motions, subpoenas, disclosures, discovery documents, witness lists, exhibit lists, and legal correspondence
  • Assist attorneys with drafting and proofreading legal document
  • Assist attorneys and team members with additional legal and administrative duties as assigned
  • Organize, maintain, and update case files and databases
  • Support attorneys with compliance related to legal procedures and court requirements
  • Manage scheduling conflicts and coordinate calendar updates
  • Schedule appointments, depositions, court appearances, and meetings
  • Perform administrative tasks including filing, document management, copying, and general office support
  • Handle incoming and outgoing communications, including phone calls, emails, mail, and faxes
  • Conduct interviews with prospective clients and gather relevant case information
  • Monitor and manage case deadlines, filings, and court appearances
  • Coordinate communication between clients, attorneys, medical providers, lienholders, and court personnel
  • Maintain proactive communication with clients to ensure a positive client experience
  • Provide case updates and respond to client questions and concerns
  • Gather required information and documents from clients

Requirements:

• Schedule: Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST

• Time Zone: Eastern Standard Time (EST)

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Legal Assistant

• Associate's degree or higher in Legal Studies, Paralegal Studies, or a related field preferred

• Knowledge of legal terminology, court procedures, and Michigan state laws required

• Experience supporting litigation matters and legal document preparation preferred

• Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software required

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required

• Strong written and verbal communication skills required

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism while handling sensitive legal information

Work Shift:

9:00 AM - 6:00 PM [EST][EDT] (United States of America)
