Job Summary:

The Enrollment Advisor is responsible for converting warm inbound leads into committed program enrollments through consultative, phone-based sales conversations. This role educates consumers on PPL's Medicaid self-direction programs, assesses eligibility and needs, addresses objections, and secures a verbal commitment to enroll while managing each lead through the enrollment commitment stage. The Enrollment Advisor prioritizes leads based on established tier guidelines, maintains accurate and timely documentation in lead tracking systems and Salesforce, and executes seamless warm handoffs to Enrollment Specialists to ensure a positive consumer experience. Success in this role requires strong objection-handling, active listening, adaptable communication skills, disciplined lead management, and consistent achievement of monthly enrollment commitment goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead Management & Responsiveness

  • Receive warm inbound marketing leads and initiate first contact within 2 hours of assignment.

  • Own each lead from first contact through the consumer's verbal commitment to enroll; responsibility ends at confirmed commitment and verify eligibility.

  • Work the lead queue in tier order, with Tier 1 (Medicaid-confirmed) leads always prioritized before Tier 2 leads.

Consultative Sales & Enrollment Conversion

  • Conduct consultative sales conversations: introduce PPL, explain Medicaid self-direction programs (ODP and OLTL in PA; equivalent programs in VA), qualify the consumer, address objections, and ask for the commitment.

  • Meet monthly enrollment commitment targets; variable compensation is tied to target attainment.

Consumer Experience & Handoff Coordination

  • Execute a structured warm handoff to the Enrollment Specialist: remain on the call, introduce the Specialist by name, confirm the consumer's next steps, then exit the call.

Documentation & CRM Management

  • Maintain complete and timely records in the lead tracker and, once live, in Salesforce.

Continuous Improvement & Professional Development

  • Participate in weekly team coaching sessions, including call reviews, objection practice, and conversion analysis.

Requirements:

  • Ability to conduct consultative phone-based sales conversations — educate, qualify, handle objections, and ask for commitment in a single call

  • Outbound call capability — comfortable initiating follow-up calls without prompting and managing a lead queue with discipline

  • Active listening and tone adaptability — ability to adjust communication style for consumers across varying levels of health literacy and program familiarity

  • Lead tracker and CRM hygiene — accurate, same-day documentation of all contacts and dispositions

  • Objection handling — ability to address cost concerns, program complexity, and family involvement without escalating or deferring

Qualifications:

Education: Associate or bachelor’s degree in communications, human services, business, or related field. Substantial professional experience may be considered in lieu of a formal degree.

Experience: 2 or more years of inside sales, phone-based sales, or high-volume consultative sales experience. Experience in healthcare, insurance, Medicare/Medicaid plan sales, benefits enrollment, or home and community-based services. Familiarity with Pennsylvania ODP or OLTL waiver programs, or Virginia Medicaid managed care organization (MCO). Prior experience working within a structured lead management or CRM system, Salesforce preferred. Documented history of meeting or exceeding a sales quota — specific attainment figures will be requested during the interview process. Demonstrated comfort with both inbound and outbound call activity. Ability to explain complex program information in plain language appropriate for consumers unfamiliar with Medicaid programs.

Certifications: N/A

Compensation: $26.93 - $30.29 / hourly

This role is eligible for a base salary within the posted range. Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including skills, experience, and geographic location. Compensation may vary for positions based in high cost-of-labor markets.

Working Conditions

  • Remote with occasional business travel.

  • Residence in or proximity to Pennsylvania or Virginia preferred.

  • Standard business hours Monday through Friday; Eastern or Central time zone strongly preferred.
