POSITION OVERVIEW
The Senior Full Stack Engineer is a technical leader responsible for architecting, developing, and supporting scalable data solutions that power business intelligence, reporting, and analytics across the organization. This role goes beyond execution — the Senior Full Stack Engineer sets technical direction, mentors junior and mid-level engineers, and partners directly with product owners, team leads, BI analysts, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into robust, production-grade data solutions with an unwavering emphasis on data integrity and accuracy.
The Global Overview Engineering and IT department is expanding its technology engineering platform to advance the data-driven decision-making capabilities of our enterprise. We also develop and maintain in-house solutions for our business partners to use and are expanding capabilities for external clients to leverage. As a senior member of the team, you will play a key role in shaping the architecture and standards that make this expansion possible.

To achieve business success, the Engineering team uses leading edge technology, innovative thinking, and agile processes. One of Global Overview's key priorities is driving business action through connected data obtained from leading e-commerce platforms.
Global Overview leverages the AWS solution stack. We're looking for a seasoned engineer who can operate with significant autonomy, exercise sound architectural judgment, and guide the team through ambiguous, high-complexity technical problems.
This position requires the candidate to exercise a high degree of discretion and independent judgment while solving complex problems with internal and external clients, often with minimal oversight. As a Senior Full Stack Engineer, you will lead the collaborative concept definition, architectural refinement, and software design processes, and will be looked to as a subject-matter expert in creating solutions that support the strategic technology needs of Global Overview. Your main goal is to combine technology and design leadership to create scalable, inviting, easy-to-use cloud applications the business can leverage — while raising the technical bar for the broader engineering organization.
You should be comfortable operating across the full technical stack and across business functions, and should be equally comfortable rolling up your sleeves on hands-on development as you are guiding architecture discussions, reviewing others' code, and setting technical direction (core development on platform, data collection and entry, front end development, and/or report generation).
The ideal candidate is confident, self-directed, and brings strong organizational and leadership skills. Vital to this role is the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment while mentoring others and driving engineering best practices.
Responsibilities
? Lead architectural design and technical strategy for the data warehouse and key business data flows, ensuring solutions are scalable, maintainable, and secure
? Partner with business and technology stakeholders to understand complex requirements and translate them into well-architected, value-add technology solutions
? Own end-to-end data transformation processes to populate warehouse table structures optimized for reporting and analytics
? Rapidly assess and improve existing database and system design, identifying opportunities for optimization and technical debt reduction
? Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior and mid-level engineers, including code reviews and design feedback
? Serve as a technical advisor to the Scrum Master and/or Application Lead throughout the development process, surfacing risks and proposing solutions
? Lead the modification, testing, and rollout of changes to existing programs and user interfaces, with a focus on minimizing risk to production systems
? Develop and maintain documentation standards to ensure data structures and user interfaces are completely and accurately represented
? Champion and help define best practices across the Engineering organization
? Evaluate, recommend, and implement emerging UI and platform technologies
? Establish and oversee QA processes at multiple stages of development to ensure ease of use, speed, accuracy, and overall quality
? Balance back-end data organization with front-end accessibility, with an eye toward long-term scalability
? Maintain and enforce data standards, including adherence to the Data Protection Act
? Drive process improvement initiatives, including creating, documenting, and implementing standard processes across the team
? Research, plan, organize, lead, and implement new processes or technology initiatives
? Own access controls, permissions, and privilege management
? Design, implement, and regularly test back-up and disaster recovery plans
? Ensure storage and archiving procedures are functioning correctly and at scale
? Lead capacity planning efforts for current and future infrastructure needs
? Collaborate closely with project managers and Tableau Developers to align technical delivery with business goals
? Oversee security posture and disaster recovery planning for the database environment
? Triage, prioritize, and resolve complex website and/or application issues or bugs, including production incidents

? Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or Engineering preferred
? 7+ years of front end development, back end development, and data warehousing experience, with demonstrated growth into a senior or technical lead capacity
? Deep, hands-on expertise with AWS (including Redshift), PostgreSQL, and Python
? Proven experience leading or heavily contributing to architectural decisions within agile delivery methodologies — Scrum, SAFe, Extreme Programming
? Strong experience with source-code management and CI/CD tooling such as GitHub and Jenkins
? Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to guide others through complex technical challenges
? Strong communication, teamwork, negotiation, and mentorship skills
? Demonstrated ability to work to tight deadlines under pressure while managing multiple concurrent priorities
? Deep knowledge of building reporting solutions with data visualization and reporting tools (Tableau, Qlik, Quicksight)
? A track record of staying current with emerging technology and evaluating its fit for the organization
? Strong understanding of key website and application user interface design principles
? Proven ability to test, debug, and guide others through debugging website and application user interfaces
? 7+ years of experience with SQL and relational database engineering (Oracle, SQL Server, Teradata), including schema design and performance tuning
? Substantial experience with cloud engineering on AWS, including designing for scalability and resilience
? Advanced experience developing with scripting languages Python and Postgres
? Proficiency across website programming languages such as HTML, C#, CSS, Python, C++, and JavaScript
? Advanced AWS CLI, PowerShell, and/or Unix shell scripting skills
? 7+ years leveraging and maintaining ETL tooling — such as Glue, Alteryx, or other related ETL (extract, transform, load) tools — and/or
? Strong front-end expertise and familiarity with the following toolkit: AWS Amplify, CloudFront, React, Vue, Node, proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python, HTTP, REST APIs, Git, Docker, CloudFormation, YAML, CodeCommit, authentication/authorization practices, and jQuery
? Prior experience mentoring engineers or leading small technical initiatives is strongly preferred
