About the company

Meriwether Godsey logo

Meriwether Godsey

In the early 80’s, while working for a large contractor and catering part-time, Marie “Rie” Meriwether Godsey, and her husband Eddie became convinced that they could provide what the global operators could not: personal attention, real partnership, and fabulous food. They believed that hands-on ownership, which is often found in the finest restaurants, would make a difference in contract dining. In 1985, with this ideal in mind, they launched Meriwether Godsey with two locations, an independent school, and a small college. Almost entirely by word of mouth, today we have grown to operate throughout the east coast from North Carolina to Massachusetts.

Job description

At Meriwether Godsey, we believe that great food brings people together, but great partnerships keep them together. As a premier dining management company, we serve independent schools, higher education, and corporate partners with custom culinary solutions and genuine hospitality. We are looking for a dynamic B2B Marketing Manager who shares our passion for relationships, community, and growth.

The B2B Marketing Manager will play a pivotal role in driving Meriwether Godsey’s growth and strengthening client retention. Working alongside our B2C Marketing Manager and reporting directly to the VP of Marketing and IT, you will serve as the bridge among marketing, operations, and business development.

Your focus will be split between supporting our Directors of Strategic Partnerships to win new business and equipping our Operations teams with the communication tools they need to delight existing clients.

Your primary goal is to support B2B sales efforts with customer acquisition, retention, and communication through campaigns, trade shows, client comms, relationships, and events.

What the Marketing Manager will do:

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Sales Support

  • RFP & Proposal Development: Partner with Directors of Strategic Partnerships to craft compelling, visually polished, and persuasive proposals and presentations for Request for Proposals (RFPs).

  • Sales Campaigns: Develop and execute B2B marketing campaigns to generate leads, build brand awareness, and nurture prospective client relationships.

  • Business Analytics: Support the sales team’s efforts within Salesforce (technology) to ensure accurate data tracking, pipeline visibility, and targeted campaign outreach.

Client Relations & Operations Support

  • Client Communications: Work with Operational Leadership, DSPs, and the B2C Marketing Manager on client-facing communications like client partnership reviews, impact reports, and annual survey report-outs.

  • Online Corporate Content Oversight. Maintain website content like Landing pages for campaigns, messaging to prospective clients, etc. Plan and develop thought leadership content for social media and website. Share social media strategy as it relates to Client relations and thought leadership.

Trade Shows & Industry Affiliations

  • Event Management: Organize, promote, and attend industry trade shows and conferences to elevate Meriwether Godsey’s market presence.

  • Affiliation Maximization: Serve as the primary marketing point of contact for key client organizations and associations (e.g., NBOA, AISNE, etc.), ensuring we maximize our memberships, sponsorships, and networking opportunities.

What the Marketing Manager will need:

Required:

  • Experience: 3–5 years of experience in B2B marketing, business development support, or a related role (experience in hospitality, food service management, or the independent school sector is a major plus). BS/BA in Business/Marketing or related discipline.

  • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple tight deadlines simultaneously, particularly during busy RFP cycles.

  • Design Literacy: Comfort and familiarity with Adobe Design Tools (InDesign, Illustrator, or Photoshop). Note: You don’t need to be a graphic designer, but you must be comfortable editing existing templates, swapping text/images, and maintaining brand standards.

  • Core Software Competency: Proficiency with standard word processing, presentation, and spreadsheet software is a must.

  • Communication Skills: Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with a sharp eye for detail.

  • Managing in a matrix environment.

Preferred:

  • Tech Stack: Direct experience with Salesforce and Google Workspace.

  • CRM Experience: Experience utilizing a CRM system to support sales workflows and track marketing efficacy.

What the Marketing Manager will get:
