Pay: $200,000.00 - $275,000.00 per year

Location: Austin, TX — Fully on-site. This role is designed for someone who genuinely enjoys working collaboratively in an office environment. Some flexibility to work from home may be available as needed.

Note: An active bar license in any U.S. state and 5+ years of directly relevant healthcare regulatory and compliance experience are must-have qualifications. Candidates should currently live in the Austin area or already be in the process of relocating to Austin, as relocation assistance is not available.

Job Description

  • Partner with the General Counsel and executive leadership on complex healthcare regulatory, compliance, and risk matters.
  • Build and scale legal frameworks, policies, controls, and compliance programs that support continued growth.
  • Advise the business on federal and state healthcare laws affecting pharmacy, telehealth, e-commerce, and consumer health operations.
  • Monitor corporate practice of medicine requirements, state medical board regulations, remote prescribing rules, and other evolving telehealth standards.
  • Help oversee pharmacy licenses, accreditations, regulatory inquiries, audits, inspections, and related responses across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Provide guidance on FDA requirements involving prescription medications, drug labeling, advertising, and consumer health platforms.
  • Advise on privacy, data security, and legal requirements governing patient health information.
  • Oversee significant transactions and litigation matters, including outside counsel strategy, budgets, and performance.
  • Support legal and regulatory considerations for new products, business initiatives, and expansion into new territories.
  • Lead, mentor, and help develop the legal team while maintaining a high standard of legal work and business partnership.

Qualifications

  • JD from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active bar membership in any U.S. state.
  • 5+ years of directly relevant healthcare regulatory and compliance experience.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulatory laws, including pharmacy, telehealth, e-commerce, corporate practice of medicine, and privacy.
  • Experience developing or managing compliance frameworks in a highly regulated environment.
  • Experience handling regulatory inquiries, audits, licensing, or accreditation matters.
  • Strong business judgment with the ability to balance legal risk with practical business objectives.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
