Engineering Manager, AI Product Development

As the Engineering Manager, AI Product Development, you will provide technical leadership and hands-on guidance to a team of software engineers building AI-enabled products and platform capabilities. You will help shape architecture, improve engineering practices, and drive the adoption of AI-assisted development workflows while remaining close to the technology and delivery process.

This role combines engineering leadership with strong technical contribution. You will be responsible for team performance, software quality, system reliability, and delivery outcomes while helping engineers grow and succeed in a remote-first environment.

What you'll do

• Lead a team of senior software engineers, creating a culture of ownership, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
• Partner closely with Product, Design, Operations, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
• Influence product direction by challenging assumptions, advocating for user-first decisions, and helping teams focus on high-impact outcomes
• Design and review scalable architectures, breaking complex initiatives into actionable technical plans
• Drive adoption of AI-assisted and agentic development workflows to improve engineering productivity, code quality, testing, and delivery speed
• Build and support modern full-stack applications using technologies such as Next.js, TypeScript, React, shadcn/ui, Supabase/Postgres, APIs, and cloud services
• Guide technical decisions across frontend, backend, data, and AI-enabled systems
• Lead code reviews, architectural reviews, and technical design discussions while maintaining high engineering standards
• Improve software delivery practices, including CI/CD, testing, observability, reliability, security, and operational excellence
• Track engineering metrics and delivery indicators to identify risks, improve predictability, and support data-driven decisions
• Support modernization efforts, technical debt reduction, and platform evolution initiatives
• Collaborate with engineers on complex technical challenges and remain hands-on when necessary with architecture, implementation, debugging, or proof-of-concept development
• Foster effective asynchronous communication and collaboration across globally distributed teams
• Support other tasks or projects as assigned to meet team and business needs

About you

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience building production systems
• Previous experience leading engineering teams, mentoring developers, and driving technical delivery
• Hands-on experience integrating AI capabilities, LLMs, AI agents, RAG systems, or AI-powered workflows into products and engineering processes
• Strong hands-on experience with modern web application development using TypeScript, React, and Next.js
• Experience designing scalable APIs, distributed systems, and cloud-native applications
• Strong understanding of relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL
• Experience with CI/CD automation, testing strategies, monitoring, and production operations
• Proven ability to balance technical leadership with execution and delivery accountability
• Experience modernizing systems and improving engineering effectiveness through automation and process improvements
• Strong architectural thinking with the ability to evaluate trade-offs between scalability, maintainability, cost, and delivery speed
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, remote-first environment with distributed teams
