Job description

Your mission

To support our growing team, we are looking for an experienced Product Manager. In this role, you will take a strategic and hands-on approach to defining the product vision and expanding our product suite. You will develop frameworks and processes that bring together insights from engineers, executives, and customers to strengthen our cutting-edge, easy-to-use, high-performance AI infrastructure design and management platform.

  • Develop the multi-year vision and roadmap for our AI Scheduling product, from job queuing and resource allocation to latency optimization and reliability at scale.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, infrastructure, and platform teams to define and deliver capabilities that enterprise and developer customers rely on every day.
  • Engage directly with customers to identify unmet needs, validate product direction, and turn complex or conflicting input into clear product decisions.
  • Monitor the competitive and technical landscape, including distributed systems, orchestration tools, and AI workload patterns, and translate relevant trends into roadmap implications.
  • Work with leadership to support product launches, roadmap reviews, and the broader product narrative.
  • Create tight feedback loops between customers and engineering to continuously improve performance, usability, and reliability.
  • Support go-to-market activities by contributing to product messaging, documentation, and technical content, including blogs, white papers, and presentations.

Your profile

This role is open to candidates based in Germany who are able to work in a hybrid setup from our Heidelberg office, or candidates based in the San Francisco Bay Area.

  • 5+ years of product management experience, including significant ownership of infrastructure, platform, or developer tooling products.
  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent hands-on technical experience.
  • Proven track record of defining and delivering multi-year product roadmaps, not just quarterly plans.
  • Product management experience with cloud or cluster management technologies such as Kubernetes, OpenStack, Slurm, VMware, or similar platforms.
  • Working understanding of machine learning systems, including compute hardware, communication layers, and AI software toolchains.
  • Working understanding of common machine learning software, including models, inference engines, orchestration tools, and typical user and developer workflows.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and able to make clear decisions with incomplete information.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with engineers, executives, and enterprise customers.
  • Comfortable working as an individual contributor, with impact driven by insight, ownership, and cross-functional influence rather than team size.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams without losing quality or momentum.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 30% between our German and US locations, as business needs require.

Nice to have

  • Experience in an AI/ML infrastructure or MLOps environment, including an understanding of how scheduling supports training, inference, and evaluation pipelines.
  • A portfolio of technical writing, product specifications, or public content demonstrating an ability to communicate complex topics clearly.
  • Measurable outcomes you can point to and own, such as shipped products, adoption metrics, customer wins, or performance improvements.

Why us?

  • Build something big: Help build and scale a fast-growing AI infrastructure startup.
  • Pay & perks: Competitive compensation, performance-based incentives, a subsidized Deutschlandticket, and access to a discount portal.
  • Work your way: Flexible hours with hybrid and remote-friendly options.
  • Fast lanes, no red tape: Flat hierarchies and rapid decision-making mean ideas move quickly.
  • Global team: Work with a diverse, international team across Germany and the US.
  • Modern offices: Well-equipped locations near Heidelberg Hauptbahnhof and in the San Francisco Bay Area.
  • Top setup: Your choice of high-quality hardware and equipment.
