EC Markets is a globally recognised financial brokerage, providing advanced FX and CFD trading services to clients across international markets. As part of its continued growth in Limassol, EC Markets is seeking a 1st IT Support professional to ensure reliable, secure and efficient IT services for office staff and core systems.


About the Role


The 1st IT Support Technician role will provide day-to-day technical support to employees, covering desktops, laptops, peripherals, business applications and basic server-related tasks under the guidance of senior IT staff. The position is ideal for someone early in their IT career who enjoys solving problems, supporting colleagues and maintaining a stable office technology environment.


Responsibilities


  • Act as the first point of contact for IT queries from staff in Limassol and remote users, via in-person, email, phone and ticketing systems.
  • Log, prioritise, troubleshoot and resolve first line incidents and service requests (hardware, software, network, access issues), escalating to senior IT or external vendors where necessary.
  • Set up and configure new starters’ workstations, laptops, user accounts, profiles, email, permissions and standard applications in line with EC Markets’ policies.
  • Support day-to-day server and systems operations (e.g. monitoring basic server health, backups status checks, printer and file share access) under the supervision of the IT Manager or Systems Administrator.
  • Install, update and maintain approved software, including operating systems, office productivity tools and security agents (antivirus, endpoint protection).
  • Perform routine hardware tasks such as setting up monitors and peripherals, replacing faulty components, managing printers and basic network patching where needed.
  • Assist with user access management, including password resets, account lockouts and adherence to security and access control procedures.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of assets, configurations, tickets and standard operating procedures to support consistent IT service delivery.
  • Support small IT projects and ad hoc tasks such as office moves, equipment rollouts and application rollouts.
  • Promote good IT hygiene and best practices among staff, including basic security awareness, acceptable use and incident reporting.


Qualifications


  • 1–3 years’ experience in a 1st line IT Support, IT Helpdesk or similar technical support role.


Required Skills


  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive) and standard office productivity tools.
  • Hands-on experience with PC and laptop hardware, printers, basic networking (LAN, Wi‑Fi) and common office peripherals.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve common user issues efficiently, with a focus on customer service and clear communication.
  • Good understanding of basic IT security concepts such as passwords, access controls, antivirus and updates.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tickets and tasks simultaneously.
  • Professional fluency in English; Greek language skills are an advantage in the Cyprus office context.
  • Eligibility to work in Cyprus (Limassol-based office role).


Preferred Skills


  • Exposure to server technologies (e.g. Windows Server, Active Directory, basic backup and monitoring tools) in a support capacity.
  • Experience working in a financial services, brokerage or other regulated environment where data protection and security are critical.
  • Familiarity with ticketing and IT service management tools and basic ITIL concepts.
  • Relevant IT certifications (e.g. CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft certifications) or ongoing IT studies.


Pay range and compensation package


  • 13th salary (in line with common practice within the Cyprus market, at employer discretion and policy).
