Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 per annum + Company Vehicle + Benefits

About the Role

The Wiggett Group is seeking an experienced Access Control Service Engineer to deliver planned servicing, reactive maintenance, and fault repairs across our social housing contracts in London.

This role is heavily service and maintenance focused, working on live occupied properties, ensuring access control systems remain fully operational, compliant, and safe for residents. You will be responsible for diagnosing faults, carrying out repairs, and maintaining a high standard of customer service while representing the Wiggett Group on site.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys problem-solving, working autonomously in the field, and developing their career within a growing Fire & Security division.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned servicing and preventative maintenance of access control systems
  • Diagnose and rectify faults on access control systems as part of reactive works
  • Attend emergency call-outs to restore system functionality promptly
  • Work on associated systems where required, including:
  • Door entry & intercom systems
  • Magnetic locks, strikes, keypads, fobs & proximity readers
  • Basic CCTV and intruder alarm interfaces
  • Ensure all works are completed in line with manufacturer guidelines, industry standards, and health & safety regulations
  • Test systems following repairs or servicing to confirm full operation
  • Complete accurate job reports, service records, and compliance documentation
  • Communicate clearly with residents, housing officers, and internal teams
  • Work closely with supervisors and other engineers to manage workload and priorities

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Security / Access Control Service Engineer
  • Strong background in fault finding, servicing, and reactive maintenance
  • Hands-on experience with access control systems (standalone & networked)
  • Knowledge of health & safety practices and site working in occupied properties
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own daily workload
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable (but not essential):

  • City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent Security Systems qualification
  • Experience working within social housing or local authority contracts
