Job description

Impact Drill & Blast offers integrated drill and blast services, offering full Rock on Ground capabilities covering every stage of the project from survey, blast design, markout, drilling and bulk explosives supply to firing of blasts. With over 30 years’ experience, we service clients who work in the civil, mining and quarrying sectors.

As part of our expansion into a new mining project in the East Kimberley Region WA, we're actively seeking a skilled Mining Projects Supervisor. This role has emerged due to our venture into this exciting project, requiring someone experienced as a Shotfirer possessing strong leadership qualities. Our team is in its initial stages, and while we're establishing it, we need support in recruitment and selection processes. If you're seeking a new challenge and are ready to lead our efforts in this dynamic endeavour, this role might just be the perfect fit.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate and lead teams on a rostered basis, leveraging your shotfirer ticket and expertise in managing schedules effectively.
  • Liaise with HR for recruitment processes, offering valuable insights and expertise in selecting the right candidates for the team.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements while providing ample support to drill and blast crews.
  • Plan and deploy equipment, staff, inventory, and resources for optimal operational outcomes.
  • Coach, mentor, and manage team members to cultivate a cohesive and high-performing team.
  • Collaborate closely with the site manager to drive continuous improvement in drill and blast operations, championing a safety-focused culture.

What we are offering:

  • Lifestyle Roster 2:2.
  • Opportunities for growth, including cross-training initiatives.
  • Competitive salary package for the right applicant.
  • Flights, accommodation, company phone, and laptop provided.
  • Join a culture that prioritises safety above all else.

To be considered applicants must:

  • Have a minimum of 3 years in supervisory roles within blasting/drilling operations, with a current shotfirer ticket.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills in scheduling teams, emphasizing people management skills.
  • Offer insights and support in recruitment processes, liaising effectively with HR.
  • Possess customer relationship development and management skills.
  • Hold a current HR and forklift license, with Shotfirers or Dangerous Goods ticket highly desirable.
  • Preferably have technical service experience within mining operations.
  • Be physically capable of working in an outdoor environment involving prolonged periods of physical activity.
  • Pass National Criminal History Check/SSAN, pre-employment medicals, and Drug and Alcohol screening.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills for relationship-building, leadership, and influence.
