Job description

The Information and Communications Technology Council (ICTC) is seeking a Bilingual AI Training & Business Transformation Specialist to lead the facilitation and delivery of AI & digital transformation training to both post-secondary students, and their Work Integrated Learning (WIL) host employers. Reporting to the Manager, Digital Training & Industry Transformation, the role focuses on training facilitation on the student-facing side, and applied AI facilitation and business process transformation for the host company. You are the primary program lead who teaches the core AI content, keeps student-employer sprint teams  engaged, and tracks their progress, for the course of the 8-week cohorts. The ideal candidate is a skilled bilingual facilitator, adult educator with real AI proficiency, and has experience implementing technology transformation initiatives. You make technical concepts accessible and actionable for participants who are newer to building and using AI tools. You will  work alongside Sector Transformation Advisors, drawing on that depth where needed.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical AI Training & Facilitation

  • Deliver high-impact AI training sessions for both student and employer learning streams.
  • Facilitate synchronous virtual bootcamp sessions and workshops that go beyond surface-level overviews to provide practical, applied AI skills.
  • Guide students in developing hands-on AI projects and capabilities relevant to their WIL placement contexts.
  • Coach employers and business leaders on translating AI concepts into measurable operational improvements and sector-specific use cases.
  • Serve as the primary technical subject matter expert (SME) for AI content across ICTC's training programs.
  • Ensure training is grounded in real-world AI applications and current industry practices.
  • Lead live virtual bootcamp sessions for student and employer cohorts, keeping participants engaged, progressing, and connected to the applied work of their placements.
  • Teach the core AI content with a focus on practical, hands-on application rather than surface-level overviews.
  • Translate AI concepts into language and use cases that make sense to non-technical learners and business audiences.
  • Guide students as they build hands-on AI projects tied to their WIL placement context.
  • Monitor learner progress across cohorts, identify who needs support, and adjust delivery to keep people moving.
  • Serve as the consistent AI-fluency anchor across the program, working alongside the industry coaches and SMEs.

Business Transformation

  • Provide expert-level guidance to student-employer sprint teams on AI readiness assessments, business problem framing, transformation roadmaps, and priority use case identification.
  • Guide companies in priority industrial sectors on practical AI adoption, from workflow automation to data-driven decision-making.
  • Support employers in structuring AI-focused projects that are meaningful for both the employers and their WIL student placements, and that can impact the company’s bottom line and ability to scale as a business.
  • Identify and share sector-specific case studies, tools, and frameworks that make AI adoption tangible for non-technical business audiences.
  • Facilitate peer learning, group problem-solving, and applied exercises that build employer AI confidence and capability.

Curriculum & Content Development

  • Collaborate with the Manager and e-learning team to develop, review, and continuously evolve technically current AI training content.
  • Ensure all curriculum reflects the latest developments in AI, automation, and digital transformation.
  • Contribute to the design of assessments, capstone projects, and applied learning challenges.
  • Recommend emerging tools, platforms, and pedagogical innovations that enhance the learning experience.
  • Provide technical review and quality assurance of all AI-related training materials.

Stakeholder & Expert Engagement

  • Engage with Sector Transformation Advisors and employer stakeholders to ensure training reflects current and emerging business needs.
  • Contribute to ICTC's thought leadership by staying current on AI trends, labour market forecasting, and Canadian industry transformation.
  • Support outreach and engagement activities in both English and French.
  • Collaborate with post-secondary partners and ecosystem stakeholders as needed to align training with student and employer outcomes.

Reporting & Quality Assurance

  • Track and report on training delivery, learner outcomes, and technical engagement metrics.
  • Provide technical input into funder reporting, program documentation, and continuous improvement cycles.
  • Support ICTC's evaluation function by contributing insights on learner progress and content effectiveness.
