Job description

For over 30 years Coast Mountain Geological (CMG) has provided worldwide geological services to our clients with a team of geoscience enthusiasts led by a balanced mix of youthful and seasoned industry professionals. With active exploration programs across North America and Europe exploring for commodities that will help power the future, CMG is looking to add to its team of Exploration Technicians for its projects in Canada for the 2026 field season.  If you are an aspiring geoscientist currently enrolled at a post secondary institution or an early career mineral exploration enthusiast looking to gain field experience, this is the role for you.

The Mineral Exploration Technician’s main responsibilities will include:


  • Maintaining and updating geological databases for the project

  • Teching of drill core

  • Cutting of drill core

  • Soil, silt and biogeochemical sampling

  • Assisting with geophysical surveys

  • Assisting the Geology team with accurate and timely data collection in all tasks completed

  • Assist in implementing corporate safety and operating policies

  • Aid in developing new corporate and operating policies when instances present themselves

  • Help in all miscellaneous jobs as required during exploration


The ideal candidate will have:


  • Previous experience as an Exploration Technician or similar role in the exploration industry is considered an asset, but not required.

  • A passion to learn new skills.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, time-management skills and be self-motivated.

  • A positive and adaptable attitude to an ever-changing high demand work environment.

  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite is considered an asset.

  • Ability to lift and move core boxes/sample bags weighing up to 50 lbs.

  • Legally entitled to work in Canada.

  • Valid driver’s licence.

  • Availability to work rotations up to 28 days in length and live in a camp environment at remote project sites
