About the company

Parallel Design Studio logo

Parallel Design Studio

Since 2014, Parallel has shaped AI products and digital experiences for teams that need senior judgment at startup velocity, from first idea to scale. We are the design partner for funded startups and enterprises building what comes next, designing digital products that move beyond the demo into real, lasting adoption. Our work spans AI product design, SaaS UX, brand and web design, and product strategy across fintech, healthtech, govtech, and emerging AI sectors. Recent partners include Meta, Sarvam AI, HealthifyMe, Lume Health, Pixxel, Gullak, UrbanPiper, and Payoneer. We work in three ways: - a fractional design partner that operates as your embedded senior team, - brand and web design for launches and rebrands, and - focused engagements like AI vision sprints and visual language systems. Engagements run 6 to 16 weeks, with most teams continuing past that. Based in Austin and Bangalore, with full Pacific and Eastern overlap. Parallel works inside your Slack and your sprint cadence, just like in-house designers, with the velocity and senior judgment of a studio that has shaped 100+ products across categories.

Job description

Who we are

Good digital products come from small teams that stay close to the work and move quickly. That's how Parallel operates, and Senior Product Designers are central to it. You'll lead the design on a project day to day and stay hands-on in the files, turning real problems into products that ship and hold up.

Product design is our focus, so knowing what it actually takes to get a product out the door is where we start. From there, you're someone whose work sets an example, and you carry that well. You'll spend your days designing, and you'll also shape where a project goes, through clear direction, sound judgment, and feedback people can use. The best idea can come from anyone on the team, and you make room for that.

What you'll do

  • Lead the design on a project, from first prototypes to final hand-off to engineering.

  • Prototype quickly in design sprints, getting ideas into a form the team can respond to.

  • Take complex, half-formed problems and make them simple to use.

  • Run the hands-on parts of a sprint: workshops, stakeholder interviews, research, user testing, and documentation.

  • Present your work and the thinking behind it, to the team and to clients.

  • Read the product data and let it sharpen your design.

  • Set the craft standards others work to: guidelines, patterns, and the details that carry a product.

  • Mentor other designers with specific, honest feedback that moves them forward.

  • Work closely with engineers and product so the design ships fully and faithfully.

  • Question the default, for clients and colleagues, and make the case for something better.

What we're looking for

  • 4+ years designing end-to-end digital products

  • Strong command of UI and UX fundamentals, and deep fluency in Figma.

  • Interaction and motion skill to shape how the work feels, with tools like Framer, Principle, or After Effects.

  • A portfolio with real strength in both UX and visual design, on products that shipped.

  • The speed to prototype fast without letting quality slip.

  • A talent for turning stakeholder goals, user research, and tangled flows into simple, clear interfaces.

  • Clear, persuasive communication, whether you're in a client meeting or a team critique.

  • A genuine appetite for feedback, and for getting better at the work and at how the team works.

Why join us

We're not another agency. We're a tight studio of makers, problem-solvers, and strategists who care about:

  • Work that matters. Real problems and real products, not pixel-pushing.

  • Sharp teammates. The best designers, engineers, and strategists to build alongside.

  • Speed over red tape. Rapid iteration, prototyping, and shipping.

  • Innovation, not imitation. Room to explore AI, new interaction models, and emerging tech.

  • Always learning. Every project stretches your thinking and your skills.
