Position: Electrical Design Specialist
Type: Contract
Compensation: $70–$85/hour
Location: Remote
Duration: Short-term project

Role Responsibilities

  • Develop, analyze, and evaluate electrical designs based on technical requirements and system performance.
  • Design and review electrical systems, circuits, and components, including distribution systems and control panels.
  • Interpret and analyze electrical schematics, diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Perform electrical calculations such as load flow, voltage drop, and short-circuit analysis.
  • Evaluate design alternatives and identify potential design issues or improvements.
  • Review and validate designs against project requirements and engineering standards.

Qualifications

Must-Have

  • Experienced Electrical Design Engineers or Electrical Engineers with hands-on industry experience.
  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of electrical system design and engineering principles.
  • Practical experience in designing or evaluating electrical systems.
  • Experience with low- and medium-voltage systems and power distribution.
  • Experience with tools such as AutoCAD Electrical, ETAP, or Revit.

Preferred

  • Advanced degree or professional engineering certification.
  • Experience with power system studies and specifying and sizing transformers and switchgear.
  • Experience with industrial automation and control systems.
  • Familiarity with electrical codes and standards like IEC, IEEE, or NEC.
