This is a part-time remote role

Join Neptune as a Ghostwriter (Transcriptionist & Copyeditor), a specialist role turning recorded storytelling into two publishable books. You'll transcribe, edit, and shape long-form audio into clear, structured chapters.
If you're an expert editor with real book-editing credits, a flawless command of American English, and you enjoy turning messy, voice-first storytelling into tight chapters, we want to meet you.

About Neptune

What You'll Do

  • Work in an American context with no adjustment needed for the Americans.
  • Type at least 65 words per minute or above.
  • Transcribe audio using AI tools, then manually clean transcripts by listening and editing for accuracy, voice, and clarity.
  • Turn raw transcripts into structured, publish-ready chapters: remove repetition, tighten language, preserve story arc, fix grammar/consistency.
  • Work closely with the client to preserve tone while making prose readable.
  • Manage deadlines and communicate status clearly and proactively.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience editing memoirs or audio-first manuscripts
  • Familiarity with book structure and tracked changes in Google Docs

Hours & Commitment

20 hours/week, long-term. Flexible schedule with reasonable overlap for US-based calls.

Equipment (Not provided by the company)

Laptop/desktop, stable internet with backup, ability to work with multi-hour audio files.

Pay & Benefits

USD 300-$600/month (pro-rated for 20 hrs/week). 12 days PTO, flexible hours, unlimited online learning, supportive team culture.
