Financial controller

Location: Hybrid.

IMPORTANT: The chosen candidate must be based either in Montevideo (Uruguay) or Bogotรก (Colombia).

Reports To:Director Strategic Finance.

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled, strategic, and hands-on Financial Controller to oversee financial operations for Entara's US offices, as well as limited operations in the UK and Switzerland.

Operating strictly on a US GAAP basis, this role requires a self-starter with a do-it-yourself mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Execute day-to-day bookkeeping operations, including accurate recording of all financial transactions in the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and bank reconciliations.
  • Maintain accounting integrity through correct transaction coding and internal controls on a US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) basis.
  • Manage billing and collections processes for client engagements, monitoring receivables with a proactive approach.
  • Supervise payroll and employee expense reimbursements, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Prepare and present timely, accurate financial statements and reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, for US, UK, and Switzerland operations.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other regulatory requirements.
  • Lead and execute monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process and develop financial forecasts.
  • Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Drive the budgeting process, develop forward-looking financial forecasts, and provide insightful variance analysis.
  • Proactively bring automation concepts forward to streamline financial processes and scale operations.
  • Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Lead the coordination of internal and external audits and liaise with external auditors.
  • Oversee cash flow and working capital management with strategic optimization efforts.
  • Act as a key financial thought leader, partnering across departments to influence business strategy and growth.
  • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and provide financial modeling and scenario analysis to support business decisions.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred.

Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting and finance experience.

Strong expertise in US GAAP is required.

Experience in professional services is highly desirable.

Proficiency in accounting software and financial management systems. Proficiency in

QuickBooks ERP is highly preferred.

Proven ability to propose and implement automation tools to improve financial processes.

Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to partner effectively with

senior leaders and cross-functional teams.

High integrity, professionalism, and a proactive, trailblazing attitude with the ability to work

independently.
