Job description

Finance Director, Operations

Location: Remote or Greenville, SC
Department: Financial Planning & Analysis
FLSA Classification: Exempt
Annual Compensation: $125,000 - $135,000 

About the Role

OB Hospitalist Group (OBHG) is seeking an experienced Finance Director, Operations to join our Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team. In this key leadership position, you’ll serve as a strategic finance business partner supporting operations management, hospital program performance, and profitability analysis. The Finance Director will oversee financial forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis for roughly half of OBHG’s hospital portfolio, driving insights that guide strategic decision-making, contract negotiations, and business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with operations leadership, hospital administrators, and regional directors to develop and maintain hospital-level financial plans aligned with contractual obligations and staffing expectations.

  • Lead the development of financial models and variance reporting tools to improve accuracy, transparency, and profitability tracking.

  • Manage key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide actionable insights to strengthen hospital relationships and operational efficiency.

  • Collaborate with corporate FP&A and executive leadership to ensure forecasting and budget alignment with corporate financial objectives.

  • Prepare and deliver financial presentations and dashboards showcasing OBHG’s value proposition to healthcare partners.

  • Conduct financial performance reviews, identify improvement opportunities, and drive cost optimization strategies.

  • Partner cross-functionally on data analytics, reporting automation, and process improvement initiatives.

  • Lead or contribute to special projects, financial due diligence, and strategic planning effort

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or Healthcare Management.

  • 5–10 years of experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A) or corporate finance, preferably within the healthcare or hospital operations sector.

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, financial modeling, and data analysis tools (Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent).

  • Strong analytical, presentation, and communication skills with a business partnering mindset.

  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence operations strategy and financial outcomes.

  • High integrity, strong attention to detail, and data accuracy focus.

Preferred:

  • Master’s Degree (MBA) or CPA certification.

  • 10+ years of high-level healthcare analytics or hospital FP&A experience.

  • Hands-on experience with Workday Adaptive Planning, ERP systems, or enterprise reporting tools.

  • Demonstrated success improving P&L performance, margin analysis, and contract profitability.
