Job description

Description

As a Senior Systems Administrator, you will keep our infrastructure running like a Swiss watch — resilient, secure, and automated. In this role, you’ll be responsible for maintaining system health, automating routine ops tasks, archiving critical data, and serving as the go-to escalation point for all major IT issues. You’ll balance daily hands-on work with longer-term planning for system efficiency, scalability, and disaster recovery. This role is ideal for a tech-savvy problem solver who thrives in fast-paced environments and isn’t afraid to get deep in the logs when things get weird.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and monitor critical systems, including job schedulers, backup processes, and automated data flows.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system, network, and application issues, escalating as needed— or more likely, being the person issues get escalated.
  • Manage archiving and long-term storage of logs, documents, and other key records in compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards.
  • Automate routine tasks (backups, deployments, etc.) using scripts and configuration management tools (e.g., PowerShell).
  • Act as primary escalation point for IT support— including system outages, service degradations, and urgent user-impacting incidents.
  • Monitor system performance and capacity trends, recommending and implementing optimizations.
  • Collaborate with development, security, and DevOps teams.
  • Maintain documentation for configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for critical incidents.
  • Establish and maintain high standards of operational processes, driving efficiency and minimizing risks.
  • Create opportunities for team members to share knowledge, insights, and best practices, promoting a culture of learning and knowledge transfer.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  •  5+ years in system administration or IT infrastructure roles.
  • Deep experience with Windows and/or environments.
  • Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar).
  • Solid grasp of backup, archiving, and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Experience with automation/orchestration tools.
  • Familiarity with database management and archiving (SQL Server).
  • Comfortable working in hybrid or cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Experience supporting compliance (SOC2, PCI, etc.) a plus.
  • Ability to work within CorServ's footprint (AL, FL, GA, IA, KY, NE, NC, TN, TX, WI, WY).
