Job description

About the role

We run IT and security for businesses across Australia. Our clients sit mainly in property management. Everything we manage runs on Microsoft cloud services.

This is the second level of our support team. Level 1 hands you the tickets they cannot finish. You take them the rest of the way. Anything larger goes up to Level 3.

The work is hands-on. You will spend most of your day inside Microsoft 365, Intune and our ticketing system.

What you will do

  • Take escalated tickets from Level 1 and resolve them.

  • Build and manage device policies in Microsoft Intune.

  • Enrol, configure and patch Windows devices through Intune and N-able N-central.

  • Administer Microsoft 365 tenants for multiple clients.

  • Manage users, licences, mailboxes, SharePoint sites and Teams.

  • Manage sign-in security, including conditional access and multi-factor authentication.

  • Respond to security alerts and complete the investigation steps.

  • Run staff onboarding and offboarding for client sites.

  • Check that backups run and confirm they restore.

  • Write up documentation as you go, not weeks later.

  • Escalate early when a problem sits outside your level.

  • Join client calls when a written update is not enough.

Security responsibilities

Security is part of the job, not a separate task.

  • Apply our security baseline to every device you touch.

  • Review alerts in our security monitoring platform and act on them.

  • Follow the change process every time. No shortcuts.

  • Report anything unusual straight away, even if you are unsure.

  • Never share credentials or work around a control to save time.

What you need

  • Three or more years in a similar support role.

  • Experience at a managed services provider, working across many client tenants.

  • Strong Microsoft Intune skills, including enrolment, compliance and application deployment.

  • Solid Microsoft 365 administration across Exchange Online, SharePoint and Teams.

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID.

  • Windows 11 and Windows Server troubleshooting.

  • Understanding of common security controls and why they exist.

  • Clear written English. You will write directly to clients.

  • Reliable power, reliable internet and a quiet place to work.

Useful, but not required

  • Microsoft certifications such as MD-102, SC-300 or AZ-104.

  • Experience with a ticketing platform such as HaloPSA.

  • Hands-on experience with N-able N-central, or a similar monitoring platform.

  • Backup platform experience.

  • PowerShell scripting for repeat tasks.

  • Networking basics — firewalls, switches and wireless.

Working arrangements

  • Monday to Friday, set to Australian Eastern time.

  • Occasional after-hours work for planned changes, with notice.

  • All work is done on a company-managed device.

  • Security controls on that device are not optional.
