Our client is a UK-based real estate investment and asset management firm specializing in residential properties and delivering strategic solutions that maximize asset performance and long-term value.

About the Role

We are seeking a Property Accountant to support the financial management of the client's residential property portfolios. This is a hands-on accounting role focused on management accounts, reconciliations, budgeting and forecasting, property-related expenses, invoicing, and VAT reporting.

The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in general accounting, experience assisting with management accounts preparation, and an interest in developing their expertise in property accounting.

Work Arrangement: Remote (Philippines)

What You'll Do:

  • Prepare monthly management accounts for property portfolios, ensuring costs are accurately coded and presenting actual results against budgets and forecasts.
  • Assist with month-end activities, including revenue recognition, accruals, and prepayments.
  • Perform financial analysis, including analysis of capital and development spend.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and merchant services/card accounts.
  • Assist with the administration of annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Support property finance activities, including monitoring utilities contracts, evaluating utility spend and consumption, and identifying discrepancies.
  • Administer council tax and other property-related financial transactions.
  • Prepare sales invoices and manage recharges across group companies.
  • Provide support and cover for the Purchase Ledger function when required.
  • Prepare and support VAT returns.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and supporting documentation.
  • Work with the finance team to investigate and resolve discrepancies and ensure financial information is accurate and complete.

What You Need:

  • 2+ years of general accounting experience, including experience working across different areas of finance or multiple ledgers.
  • Experience assisting with management accounts preparation, including accruals and prepayments.
  • Experience with bank reconciliations and financial transaction processing.
  • Strong Excel skills and experience working with large volumes of data.
  • Good attention to detail and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with UK accounting practices and VAT is preferred.
  • Experience in property accounting, property management, real estate, or a related industry is an advantage.
  • Confident using technology and comfortable learning new accounting and financial systems.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet reporting deadlines in a remote environment.

Technical Requirements

  • Fiber internet (PLDT Fiber, Converge, Globe Fiber, etc.) - recommended speed of 100/50 Mbps
  • Backup internet (mobile hotspot or secondary ISP) capable of at least 20 Mbps
  • Quiet, conducive home workspace
  • OPTIONAL: Wired Ethernet connection preferred during work hours
  • OPTIONAL: Power backup (UPS) if the location experiences frequent outages
