Job description

We’re looking for a Content Engineer, Human + AI Workflows:
Intercept is an award-winning B2B marketing agency specializing in digital content, creative, and campaigns for some of the world’s largest enterprise technology companies, including Microsoft, SAP, Lenovo, Intel, AMD, Cisco, and more.
We are building the future of B2B marketing through a hybrid Human + AI operating model. Our team is supported by custom-built AI teammates, agentic workflows, and emerging content systems that help us move faster, think deeper, and produce better work without replacing the human judgment that makes the work great.
We are looking for a Content Engineer to help accelerate that shift.
This is a pilot role for a technologically curious, innovation-minded writer or editor who wants to help shape how modern content gets made. The right candidate has strong editorial craft, clear strategic thinking, and real appetite for working with LLMs, prompts, AI-assisted workflows, structured content systems, and new forms of quality assurance.
This is not a traditional copywriter role.
It is for someone who can write, edit, prompt, test, structure, refine, and improve the systems behind the work.

ROLE OVERVIEWThe Content Engineer is responsible for creating high-quality B2B technology content while helping Intercept modernize how that content is produced.
This role blends the strengths of a senior copywriter, editor, prompt designer, content strategist, and workflow builder. You will develop polished content for complex technology audiences while also helping design the AI-supported workflows, prompts, review steps, and quality standards that make our content engine faster, smarter, and more scalable.
You will work across medium and long-form content including eBooks, whitepapers, reports, guides, infographics, case studies, blogs, thought leadership, sales enablement assets, messaging frameworks, and campaign content.
You will also help build the next version of our content practice by experimenting with LLMs, pressure-testing AI-generated drafts, improving prompt systems, documenting repeatable workflows, and helping the team adopt new ways of working.
The goal is not to produce more content for the sake of volume. The goal is to use human expertise and AI-enabled workflows to create sharper, faster, more useful content for enterprise technology clients.

Responsibilities:

Content Development and Editorial Craft: Create clear, compelling, well-structured content for complex B2B technology audiences.
Translate technical, strategic, and product information into accessible narratives that support brand positioning, audience engagement, and buyer decision-making.
Write and edit medium and long-form assets including eBooks, whitepapers, reports, guides, case studies, blogs, infographics, landing page copy, campaign copy, and enablement content.
Adapt tone, depth, and structure across different audiences, formats, channels, and stages of the customer journey.
Ensure every deliverable is polished, credible, brand-aligned, and unmistakably human in its final expression.

AI-Assisted Writing, Editing, and Workflow Design: Use LLMs and AI tools to support research, outlining, drafting, editing, content repurposing, claim validation, and versioning. Develop prompts, prompt patterns, reusable instructions, and workflow templates that improve content quality and production speed. Test AI-generated outputs critically, identifying gaps in accuracy, structure, tone, source use, and strategic alignment.
Turn rough AI-assisted drafts into polished, client-ready content through strong human judgment and editorial refinement.
Help define where AI should accelerate the process and where human thinking must lead.

Content Systems and Structured Thinking: Help build repeatable content workflows for core deliverable types.
Document source requirements, prompt inputs, review steps, QA criteria, and output expectations.
Help organize client knowledge, brand guidance, messaging rules, editorial standards, and recurring feedback so they can be applied more consistently across human and AI-supported work.
Contribute to Intercept’s evolving Human + AI content operating model.

Research and Insight Development: Conduct research to support content accuracy, credibility, and authority and validate claims.
Synthesize inputs from subject matter experts, client materials, stakeholder interviews, external sources, and AI-assisted research tools.
Identify key themes, proof points, audience tensions, and messaging opportunities that strengthen the final work.
Use AI as a research accelerator while maintaining rigorous editorial standards.

Quality Assurance and Editorial Excellence: Review content for clarity, flow, logic, tone, accuracy, and brand fit.
Pressure-test AI-assisted outputs for hallucinations, generic language, weak structure, and unsupported claims.
Help build QA checklists and editorial review standards for AI-supported content workflows.
Ensure final outputs meet Intercept’s standards for enterprise technology clients.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Stay close to how AI is changing content creation, search, buyer behavior, and B2B marketing. Experiment with new tools, workflows, and prompting techniques. Bring forward practical ideas for improving how the Content team works. Help train and enable teammates on AI-supported workflows. Contribute to a culture of curiosity, experimentation, and responsible innovation.

Required Experience: Strong background in copywriting, editing, content strategy, editorial development, or technical content. Experience writing for B2B, technology, SaaS, enterprise, partner, or complex business audiences. Strong command of structure, narrative, clarity, tone, and audience relevance. Hands-on experience using LLMs or AI writing tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, Jasper, or similar platforms. Demonstrated curiosity about prompting, AI-assisted editing, workflow design, and emerging content tools. Strong editorial judgment and comfort challenging weak AI-generated outputs. High attention to detail around accuracy, claims, brand voice, and source integrity. Ability to collaborate across content, strategy, creative, accounts, production, and technology teams. Comfort working in a fast-moving environment where tools, workflows, and expectations continue to evolve. Familiarity with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Monday.com, or similar workflow tools.

Compensation: $80,000-$90,000
