Compliance & Accounts Resolution Specialist - Canada Remote

OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Producer Compliance, the Producer Compliance Specialist supports Circular Materials’ Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) programs by helping Producers meet reporting and fee obligations.  This role combines compliance monitoring, account management, data review, and stakeholder communications to ensure accurate reporting, regulatory compliance, and program sustainability.

The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of producer accounts, investigate reporting discrepancies, support billing and payment inquiries, and collaborate with internal teams to resolve compliance matters. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, relationship management, and working with data in a fast-paced environment.

This is a remote position requiring residency in Canada. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Casework Management: Monitor, review, and resolve a daily queue of new and ongoing producer non-compliance cases and collections on outstanding reports.
• Direct Producer Outreach: Proactively communicate with Producer organizations through phone and email outreach to resolve reporting, billing and compliance-related matters.

• Compliance Resolution & Payment Management: Manage overdue Producer accounts. Work collaboratively with Producers to establish payment arrangements where appropriate, and support regulatory escalation processes for unresolved compliance matters.

• Data & Billing Validation: Review and validate producer data adjustment requests post-billing, securing executive approvals before executing system updates.
• Audit Preparation: Assemble documentation packages, validate internal metrics, and coordinate with external third-party auditors for producer-funded compliance audits.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Customer Relations (CR) and Finance to track billing modifications and resolve late-reporting accounts.
• Dispute Resolution: Walk corporate clients through the formal Dispute Resolution Policy framework to resolve disagreements regarding fees or reporting obligations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

• Post secondary education in Business Administration, Commerce, Communications, Accounting, Environmental Studies, or a related discipline is required.

Experience

• 2+ years of experience in compliance, business operations, account management, accounts receivable and collections, business administration, audit support and financial services, or regulatory enforcements.
• Direct experience working within CRM platforms, SAP (S4/HANA), or proprietary data web portals is highly desirable.
  

Skills

• Requires a strong technical aptitude with advanced Excel skills, including automation, complex formulas, macro development, data consolidation from multiple sources, and the development of KPI dashboards and performance metrics.
• Confident communicator with a professional phone presence, displaying resilience, and clear verbal negotiation skills to handle compliance-focused, high-stakes conversations with corporate stakeholders.
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Demonstrated ability to balance independent work with collaborative teamwork in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  

WORKING CONDITIONS

• All CM employees work 40 hours per week, remotely from a Canadian home office environment.

PAY TRANSPARENCY

Expected Compensation: 

• An annual base salary in the range of $55,000 to $67,000
• The salary range listed complies with the Ontario Employment Standards Act and reflects a potential base salary range for this role.  The actual salary offered will be determined within the range, and will depend on factors, such as the candidate’s unique qualifications, relevant experience, work location and expected contributions.
