Position

The Social Media Video Editor creates engaging, platform-optimised video content for marketing and learning initiatives across multiple digital channels. Using the latest AI-powered editing tools and post-production workflows, the role transforms briefs and scripts into high-quality videos that maximise audience engagement and production efficiency. Working closely with cross-functional teams, the editor applies best practices in social media algorithms, hook-led storytelling, and content optimisation for platforms such as LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok while continuously adopting new technologies to improve performance and scalability. Leverage cutting-edge AI-powered production workflows to create engaging, high-performing educational and social media video content at scale. Combine creative storytelling, automation, and platform expertise to produce hook-led videos optimised for learning outcomes, audience retention, and algorithmic distribution across professional and social networks

Key Result Areas

· AI-Driven Video Production

· Produce high-quality educational and marketing videos by leveraging the latest AI-powered editing, voiceover, captioning, avatar, translation, and automation tools to significantly improve production speed while maintaining quality.

· Create compelling short-form videos designed to maximise watch time and engagement by implementing proven hooks, retention techniques, pacing strategies, and platform-native storytelling tailored to LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and emerging channels.

· AI-Supported Post-Production Workflows

· Build scalable editing workflows using AI-assisted tools for rough cuts, scene detection, auto-captioning, B-roll generation, noise removal, transcription, localisation, and versioning to accelerate delivery.

· Optimise content for each platform by understanding algorithm preferences, audience behaviour, metadata, thumbnails, captions, aspect ratios, publishing best practices, and retention metrics.

· Learning Content Excellence

· Transform complex educational topics into concise, visually engaging learning experiences using motion graphics, animations, screen recordings, and AI-enhanced visual aids that improve comprehension and completion rates.

· Continuous AI Innovation

· Actively research, evaluate, and implement emerging AI video technologies and automation opportunities, recommending new tools and workflows that improve efficiency, creativity, and performance.

Requirements

Essential Criteria

· Bachelor’s degree in film production, Multimedia Arts, Digital Media, or equivalent professional experience.

· Certification in Video Editing, Motion Graphics, or relevant software (e.g., Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro).

· 2+ years of professional experience in video editing and motion graphics, with a portfolio showcasing a range of short and long-form content.

· Experience creating social media video content and advertisements.

· Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

· Previous work in a creative agency or fast-paced marketing environment is highly advantageous. Advanced skills in managing multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring each is completed on time and meets quality standards.

· Strong experience with Canva video editor.

· Experience working in CapCut or an equivalent software

· Basic knowledge of Premiere Pro or CapCut.

· Hands-on experience with AI-powered creative tools such as Veo, Runway, HeyGen, Descript, ElevenLabs, OpusClip, Adobe Firefly, Kling, Sora, or similar platforms.

Location

The position is home-based with travel if required.
