Descrizione del lavoro

Purpose: The Senior Homologation Engineer at UTAC Italy S.r.l. will manage complex homologation projects from initiation to completion, ensuring compliance with EU and UNECE regulations. The role includes substantial interaction with clients and regulatory authorities, negotiating and applying the specifics of automotive regulations.

Main Responsibilities:

• Regulatory Compliance and Documentation: Lead the preparation and submission of homologation documents to authorities, ensuring all vehicle projects comply with applicable EU and UNECE regulations.
• Client Interaction: Act as the primary technical contact for clients, guiding them through the homologation process and ensuring their needs are met in accordance with regulatory standards.
• Testing and Inspection Management: Oversee and conduct vehicle inspections, focusing on emissions, passive safety, and active safety. This includes managing activities at client sites, in-house, or with subcontractors.
• Technical Reporting: Compile detailed reports on test findings and homologation statuses. Review manufacturer's documentation as required.
• Quality and Process Improvement: Continuously identify and implement enhancements in technical procedures, quality control, and compliance practices.

Qualifiche

Education: Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.

Experience: Minimum 5 years of professional experience in vehicle homologation, with specific expertise in emissions testing and vehicle safety (passive and active).

Skills:

• In-depth knowledge of automotive regulatory standards under EU and UNECE frameworks.
• Proficiency in handling regulatory negotiations and documentation.
• Skilled in the use of homologation software and diagnostic tools.
• Strong analytical skills with a detail-oriented approach.

Personal Attributes: Excellent communication skills, leadership capability, and a proven track record in project management.

Secondary Activities:

• Provide mentorship and training to junior staff in homologation processes and regulatory compliance.
• Participate actively in continuous improvement initiatives within the department.

Specific Activities:

• Serve as the department's liaison for IT and metrology services, overseeing the maintenance and calibration of test equipment.
• Manage the archival and documentation processes related to homologation activities.
