Job description

Love digging into customer psychology, finding patterns,
and figuring out why people buy?

We’re Fuelerate, a growth partner for Shopify brands.

We scale eCommerce stores using data, testing, and
design that actually sells.

Now we’re hiring a E-commerce Researcher Specialist to
help our strategists spend less time on manual research and
more time on high-value strategic work.

If you enjoy digging through customer reviews, competitor ads,
product pages, social media, and other sources to uncover
useful insights, this is your role.

What you’ll do

You’ll support our CRO Strategists by turning research into clear, actionable insights:

  • Research eCommerce brands, products, competitors, and markets
  • Analyze competitor ads, messaging, offers, and creative angles
  • Research customer psychology, pain points, desires, objections, and buying motivations
  • Dig through customer reviews, comments, forums, social media, and other voice-of-customer sources
  • Identify recurring patterns in how customers think, speak, and make purchasing decisions
  • Use our internal research templates and frameworks to structure your findings
  • Use AI tools like ChatGPT to speed up research, organize information, and uncover patterns
  • Separate useful insights from generic or irrelevant information
  • Document research clearly so strategists can quickly understand and use it
  • Include relevant sources and supporting evidence
  • Communicate gaps, questions, or important findings to the strategist
  • Complete research projects accurately and within the expected timeframe

The goal is simple: give our CRO Strategists the information they need without making them spend hours finding it themselves.

What you bring

  • Experience in eCommerce, customer psychology, marketing, or creative strategy
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Strong logical thinking and attention to detail
  • Ability to find useful information quickly and accurately
  • Strong written and spoken English
  • Ability to identify patterns and turn information into meaningful insights
  • Comfortable using AI tools for research and analysis
  • Ability to follow templates, frameworks, and processes
  • Highly organized and able to work independently
  • Ability to communicate findings clearly and concisely

Bonus points for:

  • Experience working with DTC / Shopify brands
  • Experience with Conversion Rate Optimization
  • Experience analyzing competitor advertising
  • Understanding of customer psychology and buying behavior
  • Experience with Reddit, Amazon reviews, TikTok, or other customer research sources
  • Previous experience in copywriting, creative strategy, market research, or performance marketing
  • Familiarity with tools like ChatGPT, Claude, Google Sheets, Notion, or similar platforms

Why Fuelerate

We’re not a slow corporate agency.

We move fast, focus on impact, and give real ownership.

  • Fully remote
  • Flexible, hourly/project-based work
  • Work with eCommerce and DTC brands
  • Use AI and modern research tools
  • Clear processes and internal frameworks
  • Your research directly influences creative and strategic decisions
  • Opportunity to grow with a fast-moving team

Challenges (honest bit)

This is not a role where you simply collect information and paste it into a document.

You will:

  • Research quickly and efficiently
  • Work across different brands, products, and industries
  • Dig deeper when the obvious answer isn't good enough
  • Decide which information is actually relevant
  • Turn messy information into clear insights
  • Work with tight project timelines
  • Take ownership of the quality of your research

If you prefer repetitive work where you don't have to think critically, this probably isn't for you.If you enjoy research, customer psychology, problem-solving, and finding the insight everyone else missed, you'll love this.

Details

  • Type: Hourly / Project-Based
  • Location: Remote
  • Estimated workload: ~2 hours per project (4-10 hours per week)
  • Compensation: Hourly rate based on experience
  • Reports to: Creative Strategist / Strategy Team
