The role.

We are seeking a Freelance Solutions Architect with strong modern full-stack architecture experience to provide technical guidance throughout the development of a React Native application. This role will focus on defining and advising on the React Native architecture and integration approach with backend services, providing technical solutions and architectural input throughout the build.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable working across frontend and backend technologies, translating technical requirements into scalable solutions, and partnering closely with engineering teams. 

• This is a fully remote freelance contract opportunity.
• Start Date: September 14, 2026
• End Date: March 12, 2027
• Location: Colombia
• Equipment: You will use your own computer and equipment.
• Engagement Type: Independent Contractor.

What you'll be doing.

• Advise on React Native architecture, application structure, and technical approach.
• Define and guide the integration strategy between React Native applications and backend services.
• Provide technical solutions and architectural recommendations throughout the development lifecycle.
• Evaluate technical approaches and help identify scalable, maintainable solutions.
• Collaborate closely with engineers and cross-functional teams to resolve technical challenges.
• Ensure frontend and backend components are aligned with overall application architecture.
• Contribute to technical decision-making, architecture discussions, and engineering best practices.
• Support the team in identifying potential technical risks and recommending appropriate solutions.

What we would like to see.

• Strong experience designing modern, scalable full-stack architectures.
• Strong understanding of React Native architecture and application development.
• Experience designing and integrating frontend applications with backend services and APIs.
• Strong understanding of modern software architecture, design patterns, and engineering best practices.
• Experience working across frontend and backend technologies and understanding how they interact within a larger system.
• Strong problem-solving and technical solutioning skills.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to engineers and stakeholders.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional and distributed engineering teams.
• Comfortable providing technical guidance and architectural direction without being the primary hands-on development lead.
• Professional English proficiency with strong verbal and written communication skills.
