Job description

Overview:

The service technician is responsible for installing and servicing stairlifts onsite at customers homes. Their professionalism and skill directly reflect the American Stairlifts Brand and they are the key point of contact for a successful customer relationship.

Responsibilities:
  • Install, repair and provide preventative maintenance of stairlifts in customer locations
  • Service accounts by analyzing work orders, planning daily schedules, investigating complaints and performance problems, conducting tests, and resolving issues
  • Establishes initial service by communicating and understanding customer feedback, ordering and staging components, coordinating installation, and testing functionality and performance
  • Promotes positive customer experience by promptly examining complaints and identifying solutions, suggesting improved methodologies, and recommending system enhancements
  • Maintains assigned tools and equipment in good operating condition by following instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, maintaining supply levels, performing regular maintenance, and scheduling needed repairs
  • Documents installation and service activities utilizing CRM Software
  • Keeps all customer information confidential
  • Updates knowledge and skills by networking, reading industry publications, and regularly participating in company training and educational opportunities
  • Supports operational and organizational missions by completing all tasks promptly and accurately.
Qualifications:

Education and Experience: HS Diploma or equivalent. Associates Degree from an accredited school in an appropriate field is recommended. Minimum two years in a repair and troubleshooting role required. A valid drivers license and good driving record is required.

 

Skills and Abilities:  Expert understanding of installation and repair of straight and curved rail stairlifts. Troubleshooting of electromechanical equipment and ability to use technology to document repairs and maintain inventory. Strong communication and customer service skills.

 

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:

 

  • Ability to lift and carry 50 - 75 pounds frequently
  • Ability to lift and carry 100 pounds occasionally, with assistance
  • Able to travel, using company vehicle, to customer locations - valid driver’s license required
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or touch; and talk or hear.
