The Role

We are seeking an experienced Occupancy Planner to shape how our global workplace portfolio supports business performance, onsite work strategy, and outstanding associate experiences. This role sits at the intersection of workplace strategy, strategic space planning, and data‑driven decision making, with responsibility for translating workforce and space insights into clear, actionable plans.

You will coordinate occupancy planning efforts across a complex, multi-site global portfolio—developing space scenarios, stack plans, phasing strategies, and utilization insights that guide short- and long-term decisions. This is a highly collaborative role, partnering closely with Real Estate Strategy, Associate Experience, Facilities and Operations, Workforce Planning, and Design teams to align space supply with evolving business needs.

Success in this role requires a balance of analytical and data orientation, workspace design and planning proficiency, and strong communication capabilities. You’ll influence leaders with well‑crafted narratives backed by data, helping the organization confidently adapt in a dynamic workplace environment.

As an Occupancy Planner, you enable smarter, future‑ready workplace decisions by integrating space planning expertise, workplace strategy, and analytics. Your work ensures that space is optimized, flexible, and aligned with onsite work models, productivity goals, workspace design metrics, and associate well‑being.

You serve as a strategic advisor to business leaders—translating workforce trends, operational requirements, and workplace design standards into practical plans that improve portfolio performance. From developing stack and migration plans to guiding partners through workplace change, your insights help build an adaptable and resilient workplace strategy.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • A proven track record to translate complex data into clear insights, space scenarios, and actionable recommendations
  • Experience in corporate occupancy planning and workplace strategy, including scenario modeling, long-term forecasting, blocking and stacking, phasing, and migration planning, within large, multi-site, and matrixed organizations
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Design, or a related field, with 3–5 plus years of experience in a corporate or consulting environment
  • Experience using space and utilization data to evolve workplace standards, planning guidelines, typologies, and personas
  • Excellent judgment in addressing space-related considerations such as privacy, security, and confidentiality
  • Advanced storytelling and presentation skills, with the ability to influence executive audiences using data-backed narratives
  • Expert Excel skills, including automated reporting, pivot tables, and data modeling using CAFM/IWMS system outputs
  • Proficiency with CAFM/IWMS platforms (e.g. Tririga,Tango, Archibus) and familiarity with utilization technologies (e.g., VergeSense, Density)
  • Advanced capabilities in CAD and architectural tools (AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam), with strong drawing interpretation skills
  • Solid understanding of change management methodologies (e.g., Prosci, ADKAR)
  • A collaborative outlook capable of leading space activation, move planning, and phasing coordination efforts
  • Strong internal business focus, initiative, and follow-through in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills, with comfort navigating shifting priorities
  • Ability to travel to Fidelity sites as needed (less than 25%)
