Position:  Field Clinical Engineer

Functional Area:  Clinical

Location:  Remote (Central U.S.)

Role Description

The Field Clinical Engineer role is responsible for the introduction, implementation, and follow-up of clinical trials; support of research and development in evaluating concepts of new products or modifying existing products; serving as a technical resource between engineering, clinical research, and the medical community; providing education on company product to current and potential customers. Activities will be performed in accordance with applicable SOPs.


Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Utilize technical and clinical expertise to implement the established training program with Clinical trial sites
  • Participate in development of clinical related documents, such as work instructions, program training materials clinical protocol, source documentation, case report forms, clinical reports and patient recruitment materials
  • Assist internal core team and clinical sites device management, patient recruitment, regulatory compliance, and data management
  • Provides technical support to clinical trial sites by serving as the technical resource between engineering and the medical community as needed
  • Support Commercial Ops with commercial site on-boarding/training as needed
  • Collaborate with physicians and key clinical users on procedure development and understanding product feedback
  • Collaborate with KOLs and Magnus’ clinical and scientific team members on SAINT publications 
  • Represent Magnus at scientific conferences (e.g., poster & abstract presentation, booth, etc.) as needed
  • Provide technical input to R&D and software engineering team for development of test models and test methods for clinically relevant product evaluations
  • Skills and Qualifications


Required Experience and Skills

  • Hold a bachelor's degree in engineering (e.g. Biomedical Engineering, Biological Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering) or equivalent
  • Strong communication skills and proven track record of working collaboratively across cross functional teams.  
  • Possess strong analytical, problem-solving skills.
  • Experience and comfort in collaborating with physicians and senior level attendings
  • Demonstrated experience presenting scientific data and an established publication record
  • Willing and able to travel up to 75% of the time, including overnight and multi-day trips

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with medical terminology and a strong understanding of brain anatomy
  • Familiarity with current treatments for depression and working with psychiatric patients
  • Detailed knowledge in neuroscience of the human brain 
  • Detailed knowledge of TMS and Neuronavigation clinical and/or commercial practices 
  • Showcase a proven track record for effectively training on the safe use of medical devices (e.g., TMS, robotic systems) 
  • In-depth clinical, technical, and design control knowledge to collaborate with a cross-functional team to discover, define, develop, validate a new product


Salary Range:  $110,000 - $115,000 base salary, eligible for annual company bonus and equity

The annual base salary range for this position based in the United States is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on Magnus' compensation practices, job related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications and training, in addition to geographic location. Based on the factors above, Magnus utilizes the full width of the range.

Compensation: $110,000 – $115,000 salary range
