Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that supports the independently incorporated Planned Parenthood affiliates, which operate non-profit health centers across the U.S. PPFA also works to educate the public on and advocate for issues of sexual and reproductive health. Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) seeks an Associate Director, Clinical Training. This job reports to the Director of Clinical Operations, CAPS at PPFA. This role is on a team which focuses on the development of an overarching strategy related to current and future threats to abortion, increasing access to abortion, best practices in abortion service delivery and patient-centered care, and the development of cutting-edge clinical standards and guidance for SRH care.

Purpose:
Planned Parenthood Federation of America seeks a highly motivated, self-directed individual to support the delivery of high-quality, equitable abortion services. The Associate Director, Clinical Training will collaboratively develop and deliver new - and integrate pre-existing - tools and training resources to create and maintain a standardized, cohesive, and accessible suite of resources that support staff onboarding, training, and resilience in the areas of clinical abortion service delivery and equity, and patient and staff experience. They will provide training in the areas of abortion service delivery, customer service, and the integration of drivers of equity into abortion delivery systems. They will also expand training to other SRH service delivery topics (such as contraceptive care).

Delivery:
  • Responsible for oversight of communication, registration, and coordination of CAPS proctoring programs for affiliate clinical staff in a manner that ensures clarity of goal setting and the means of achieving them. 
  • Support the development of comprehensive training programming that is easily accessed and modifiable by service delivery teams, inclusive of clinical care (ultrasound, rh testing, lab work, etc.), patient experience, and equity content that is necessary for the provision of high-quality, equitable SRH care, with the goal of assisting health centers in onboarding and retaining talented staff. 
  • Deliver clinical trainings, both remotely and in-person. 
  • In collaboration with team leadership, strategize to ensure effective dissemination and utilization of training programs, building a response and improvement mechanism in the case barriers arise to use of programs or necessary updates to program contents and/or in response to evaluations and KPIs. 
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Engagement:
  • Collaborate with health care delivery teams and training programs, across other teams and divisions at PPFA to ensure that PPFA abortion and SRH training and resources become and remain equitable, patient-centered, trauma informed, and cutting-edge.

  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):
  • High school diploma plus 5+ years experience in the areas of SRH care and training with an emphasis on abortion care 
  • Expertise in multiple components of abortion and SRH care visits, and deep understanding of the drivers of efficient and exceptional patient-centered health care 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and high level of emotional intelligence 
  • Ability to build strong and effective partnerships with both internal and external collaborators and customers. Exceptional assessment and diplomatic skills to manage challenges as they occur. 
  • Familiarity with building training evaluation and data usage.
  • Knowledgeable of and able to apply best practices in virtual training platforms
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills
  •  Knowledge and application of core diversity, equity, and inclusion concepts such as power and privilege, emotional intelligence and implicit bias
  • Knowledge of the abortion care landscape and the barriers and facilitators to abortion access across the country
  • Proven track record of ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline at the staff, board, and/or affiliate levels with the ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects in a highly-matrixed environment.
  • Extremely organized, process-oriented, self-starter who works well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passionate about the mission of Planned Parenthood and the role of health provision and advocacy.
  • Candidates should reside in a location that allows for quick and reliable transit to an airport.
  • Able to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
  • TRAVEL: Approximately 75% domestic travel throughout the U.S.
