Job description

Position Summary:

The Network Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, security, and continuous improvement of the organization’s enterprise network infrastructure. This role ensures the availability, performance, and security of wired, wireless, cloud and WAN connectivity across all company locations. The Network Engineer partners closely with cybersecurity, infrastructure, cloud, help desk, and business teams to deliver reliable, scalable. And secure network services that support business operations and strategic initiatives. 


Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain enterprise LAN, WAN, wireless, SD-WAN, VPN, and internet connectivity across corporate offices, warehouses, and remote locations.
  • Manage and support enterprise network infrastructure including firewalls, switches, wireless access points, routers, internet circuits, and related services.
  • Configure and maintain network segmentation, VLANs, routing, QoS, ACLs, VPNs, and secure remote access solutions.
  • Monitor network health, capacity, performance, and availability using enterprise monitoring platforms.
  • Troubleshoot complex network issues affecting users, applications, cloud services, and business operations.
  • Plan and execute network upgrades, refreshes, and lifecycle management initiatives.
  • Partner with cybersecurity teams to implement secure network architectures, Zero Trust principles, NAC, IDS/IPS, secure remote access, and network monitoring.
  • Support Microsoft Azure networking, hybrid cloud connectivity, ExpressRoute, VPN Gateway, and cloud-based networking services.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure engineers to support virtualization platforms, storage networks, and data center connectivity.
  • Maintain enterprise wireless networks including site surveys, RF optimization, and performance tuning.
  • Support voice and collaboration infrastructure including Microsoft Teams Phone, SIP connectivity, and QoS optimization.
  • Configure and maintain DNS, DHCP, IP address management (IPAM), and network authentication services.
  • Work with service providers and vendors to resolve connectivity issues and coordinate installations.
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning, business continuity testing, and network redundancy initiatives.
  • Maintain network documentation including topology diagrams, standards, configurations, and operational procedures.
  • Participate in on-call support and respond to critical network outages when required.
  • Evaluate emerging networking technologies and recommend improvements.

  • Partner effectively with cybersecurity, infrastructure, cloud, and operations teams.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and standardized configurations.
  • Deliver projects on time while maintaining security and operational excellence.

Minimum Qualifications (Experience, Skills, and Education):

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of enterprise networking experience.
  • Strong knowledge of routing, switching, TCP/IP, VLANs, OSPF/BGP, VPNs, wireless networking, DNS/DHCP, and network security.
  • Experience supporting enterprise firewall platforms.
  • Experience with Cisco Meraki networking solutions.
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and project management skills.
  • Must be willing to travel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Azure networking and hybrid cloud connectivity.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 networking requirements.
  • Experience with PowerShell, Python, or network automation.
  • Experience with SD-WAN and OT environments.
  • Knowledge of CMMC, NIST 800-171, or CIS Controls.

Preferred Certifications:

  • Cisco CCNA or CCNP Enterprise
  • Fortinet NSE / FCSS
  • Palo Alto PCNSA or PCNSE
  • Microsoft Azure Network Engineer Associate (AZ-700)
  • CompTIA Network+
  • CompTIA Security+
  • Certified Wireless Network Administrator (CWNA)

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Normal, temperature-controlled office environment. Frequent use of a keyboard, mouse, computer, and cellular phone. May have prolonged periods of sitting or standing. Able to distinguish color-coded wiring or cabling; use of fine motor skills. Occasionally lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds. May be required to bend, crouch, crawl, kneel, or access small spaces or low-lit areas. May work in non-temperature-controlled areas or outdoors with exposure to uneven or slick terrain or inclement weather.
