Job description

Payments Analyst

StellarTech is a rapidly growing company at the forefront of innovation in the EdTech industry. We build and scale educational apps for users around the world, combining data, technology, and an x1000 mindset to create meaningful products and sustainable business models.

We are looking for a Payments Analyst to join our Payments Division.

Payments sit at one of the most critical points in the customer journey: the moment user intent turns into revenue. As our product portfolio and global presence continue to grow, we need an analyst who will help us keep payment reporting accurate, monitor performance, identify anomalies, and support data-driven improvements across our payment flows.

You will gradually take ownership of day-to-day payment analytics while developing deep expertise in transactional data, monetization, and subscription products.

What You’ll Do

  • Maintain and improve recurring payment reports and dashboards.
  • Adapt existing reporting for new applications, markets, and business needs.
  • Create analytical reports and data extracts independently.
  • Add new filters and dimensions to existing dashboards.
  • Monitor payment performance, alerts, and week-over-week changes in key metrics.
  • Identify anomalies in payment data and conduct first-line investigations into possible causes.
  • Perform data quality checks and help maintain consistency across multiple data sources.
  • Work with large product and transactional datasets.
  • Support the Payments team with clear conclusions and actionable insights, not just raw data.
  • Collaborate with Payments, Product, Finance, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Identify opportunities to automate recurring reports and analytical workflows.
  • Gradually contribute to more advanced payment analytics, experiments, and business hypotheses.

What We’re Looking For

  • 1-3 years of hands-on experience in Data Analytics, Product Analytics, or a similar analytical role.
  • Strong SQL skills and the ability to write queries independently.
  • Practical Python skills for data analysis and automation.
  • Working knowledge of statistics and analytical methods.
  • Experience working with large datasets and real product or business data.
  • Experience creating or maintaining reports and BI dashboards.
  • Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills.
  • Ability to validate data, identify inconsistencies, and investigate anomalies.
  • Ability to clearly explain what you did, what problem you solved, and how the result was useful.
  • Strong attention to detail and respect for data accuracy.
  • An ownership mindset: you do not simply complete tasks but take responsibility for the result.
  • High learning agility and genuine interest in developing within the payments domain.
  • Clear, structured communication and willingness to raise questions or blockers early.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with payment, transactional, billing, or financial data.
  • Experience in subscription-based, web-to-app, fintech, e-commerce, gaming, or other high-volume B2C products.
  • Understanding of monetization models and online payment flows.
  • Experience with AWS Athena or Amazon S3.
  • Experience with Tableau, Apache Superset, Looker, or similar BI tools.
  • Experience automating reports or recurring analytical processes.
  • Personal, academic, or professional projects involving automation, AI tools, or real-world datasets.

Previous payments experience is an advantage, but it is not a requirement. Strong analytical fundamentals, ownership, and the ability to learn quickly matter more.

What Success Looks Like

During your first months, you will learn the Payments Division’s data, reporting logic, and key processes.

You will gradually take ownership of recurring dashboards, reports, filters, data extracts, monitoring, and alerting.

You will be able to identify issues, explain what is happening in the data, and escalate anomalies with the necessary context.

Why You’ll Love Working With Us

  • Direct business impact: Work with data at the point where customer intent becomes revenue.
  • Global scale: Analyze payment flows across multiple products, markets, and payment methods.
  • Valuable expertise: Build your career in payments, transactions, subscriptions, and monetization.
  • Professional growth: Learn directly from an experienced Senior Analyst and gradually take ownership of your analytical area.
  • Modern tools: Work with SQL, Python, AWS Athena/S3, Tableau/Superset, and AI-powered solutions.
  • Innovative environment: Experiment, improve processes, and bring your own ideas.
  • Global remote: Work remotely as part of an international product company.
  • Health support: Company-provided medical expense compensation.
  • AI tools: Company-covered AI subscriptions and other tools.
  • Balance: 21 days of annual leave plus 10 bank holidays.
  • Collaborative culture: Work with ambitious professionals who value reliable evidence, extreme ownership, energy, and speed.
