A. M. Castle & Co.

Wholesale Distribution

In 1890, Alfred Martin Castle—a bold, 24-year-old entrepreneur with a vision—set out to solve Chicago’s manufacturing needs. Armed with determination and a horse-drawn wagon, he delivered raw materials straight to factories and shops, cutting through the congestion of the city and laying the foundation for what would become A. M. Castle & Co. Over 130 years later, we’re still driven by that same entrepreneurial spirit. From a one-man operation to a global supply chain leader with over 30 branches across four continents, A. M. Castle & Co. continues to adapt, innovate, and deliver solutions for industries worldwide. For decades, A. M. Castle & Co. operated under the trade name “Castle Metals”—a trusted name in the metals industry. In 2023, following a merger with Banner Industries—a respected supplier and processor of specialty metals in its own right—we returned to our legacy brand and legal name, A. M. Castle & Co. Together, we’ve created a powerful alignment of expertise, enhancing our capabilities across aerospace, defense, industrial and medical markets while positioning us for even greater growth. Backed by MiddleGround Capital, A. M. Castle & Co. is stronger than ever, ready to deliver unmatched value and innovation to partners around the world. The mission Mr. Castle started over a century ago remains unchanged: to deliver unmatched service, quality, and reliability to customers—every time, everywhere—a commitment that would surely make our founder proud.
