Job description

Overview:

LMI is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build mission applications supporting Army logistics modernization. You will develop user-facing applications and operational workflows primarily within Army Vantage and Palantir Foundry, turning authoritative logistics data products into practical tools for Army users.

 

This role is for an experienced, hands-on engineer who can work across the application stack, collaborate directly with users, and deliver reliable software in a secure mission environment. You will work closely with data engineers, product leaders, and Army stakeholders to translate operational needs into intuitive, scalable applications.

 

This position is part of the team supporting the Army HQDA G-4 ELISS program, delivering innovative solutions that enable critical Army logistics and sustainment missions.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, build, test, and maintain mission applications within Palantir Foundry and Army Vantage.
  • Develop intuitive user experiences, operational workflows, and decision-support tools using Foundry-native capabilities and custom software.
  • Build applications that use shared ontology objects, data products, and platform services.
  • Collaborate with Army users to understand mission needs, refine requirements, and incorporate feedback into working software.
  • Partner with data engineers to define application data requirements and ensure applications use trusted, authoritative data.
  • Apply modern software engineering practices, including source control, code review, automated testing, continuous delivery, and production monitoring.
  • Diagnose and resolve application performance, reliability, and usability issues.
  • Contribute to technical standards and reusable application patterns across the engineering team.
  • Provide technical guidance to other engineers while remaining actively involved in development.
Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Six or more years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Strong experience developing modern web applications using JavaScript or TypeScript and a framework such as React.
  • Experience integrating applications with APIs, data services, and complex enterprise data.
  • Proficiency in at least one backend development language such as Python, Java, Go, or Node.js.
  • Experience delivering secure, production-quality software using modern development and testing practices.
  • Experience supporting the Department of Defense.
  • Active Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building applications in Palantir Foundry, Army Vantage, or a comparable enterprise data platform.
  • Experience with Palantir Workshop, the Ontology SDK, application programming interfaces, or other Foundry application-development capabilities.
  • Experience developing applications for logistics, supply chain, readiness, maintenance, or other operational domains.
  • Familiarity with Palantir AIP, Agent Studio, or Continue.
  • Experience with cloud-native development and DevSecOps delivery environments.
  • Experience working directly with Army mission owners and operational users.
  • Understanding of data modeling, ontology-driven development, and data-product concepts.

The target salary range for this position is $112,000-$190,000. 

 

The salary range displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is not a guarantee of compensation. Individual salaries are determined by various factors including, but not limited to location, internal equity, business considerations, client contract requirements, and candidate qualifications, such as education, experience, skills, and security clearances.   

Applicants must meet eligibility requirements for a U.S. Government security clearance. Only US Citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
