Job description

Welcome to Destination Pet. We are One Pack- a united team working together to elevate the love and lives of pet families. Our pet-obsessed professionals create a connected care network of trustworthy partners who bring creative innovation every day. We are revolutionizing the pet industry. Join us!

We're looking for an HR professional who can own and run the programs that keep Destination Pet's people strategy on track — our annual performance management cycle, compensation governance, enterprise talent programs, and the analytics that give leadership visibility into how our organization is doing. Some of what you'll administer already exists and runs on a fixed annual rhythm; some you'll help build, refine, or launch as our priorities evolve.

This is a hands-on ownership role, not a pure coordination role: you'll partner directly with executive leadership, the Operations team, and business leaders across the company to administer critical programs and shape how they work. Real HR program experience — not just project-coordination experience — matters here.

We are looking to add a Talent and People Programs Manager to our team!

LOCATION: Remote US (preference given to candidates based in Dallas or Denver)

Travel: 10%

REPORTS TO: Group CHRO (dotted line to VP of HR)

PAY: $85,000- $115,000 plus bonus potential up to 10%

CORE RESPONSIBILITES:

 Enterprise People Programs

  • Lead administration of enterprise talent programs, including career pathing, succession planning, leadership development initiatives, and other strategic people programs

  • Partner with the Operations team to align development programs with company priorities

  • Continuously evaluate and improve enterprise people processes through data, feedback, and industry best practices

Performance Management

  • Own and administer the company's annual and mid-year performance management cycles

  • Manage performance review timelines, communications, system administration, reporting, and completion tracking

  • Partner with leaders to continuously improve the performance management process and employee experience

  • Develop reporting and analytics that provide leadership insight into organizational performance trends

  • Facilitate calibration sessions and succession-planning conversations with leadership, including assessing bench strength for critical roles

Compensation Governance

  • Administer and maintain the organization's compensation philosophy and governance framework

  • Partner with executive leadership to manage job architecture, job leveling, salary structures, bonus tiers, and market pricing

  • Support annual compensation planning and organizational design initiatives.

Organizational Analytics

  • Develop dashboards, reporting, and metrics that provide executive leadership with visibility into organizational people health

  • Analyze trends across engagement, performance, compensation, and talent programs to identify opportunities for continuous improvement

  • Present insights and recommendations to executive leadership

REQUIREMENTS:

Education & Experience:

Required

  • 5+ years of HR experience directly owning or administering enterprise people programs (performance management, compensation, talent/succession programs, or people analytics)

  • Experience running an annual or mid-year performance management cycle end-to-end — timelines, system administration, communications, and reporting

  • Experience supporting compensation governance — job architecture, leveling, salary structures, or market benchmarking — or close partnership with a Total Rewards/Compensation function

  • Experience building reporting or dashboards that surface organizational trends (engagement, performance, compensation, or talent) for leadership audiences

  • Proven ability to partner cross-functionally, including directly with executive leadership, to drive programs forward without relying on formal authority

  • Highly organized, with strong attention to detail and follow-through

  • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment, including flexibility to meet with leadership across time zones — occasionally outside standard business hours

  • Willingness and ability to use AI tools to maximize productivity and efficiency

Preferred

  • Experience with Workday

  • Experience with project management tools (Asana, Smartsheet, monday.com, MS Project, or similar)

  • Experience in a multi-state, multi-unit organization with a high volume of hourly employees (e.g., hospitality, healthcare, or retail)

  • PMP, CAPM, Agile/Scrum, or compensation (CCP) certification

  • Experience at a mid-sized company (2,000–5,000 employees)

PERKS:

  • Health, vision, dental, long & short-term disability, and Life insurance

  • A Startup mentality company with stable funding

  • 401k match

  • Pet Care discounts

  • Flexible Time Off

  • Opportunity to grow your career with a network of like-minded professionals
