Wachter is accepting applications for a CAD Operator. The role is responsible for the design, planning, and engineering of the network cable infrastructure (structured cabling, pathways, outlets, equipment build-out, etc.) within various environments nationwide.
Responsibilities:
· Create or modify pre/post-construction drawings using existing drawing files and/or sketches provided by others (structural, civil, mechanical, and/or visual/conceptual)
· Consult designers and project managers to discuss and interpret design plans and determine requirements for detailed working drawings
· Draft detail and assembly drawings for construction, including wiring schematics (line drawings)
· Create indexing, legends, sheet sets, and/or bill of materials for designs
· Stay up to date on industry and engineering standards
· Maintain Wachter’s high standard of quality and professionalism regarding workmanship, customer relations, coworkers, behavior, and appearance
· Perform any other duties not specifically stated herein which your supervisor may assign
· Adhere to all required project safety requirements as set forth by the Company and OSHA
Experience:
- 3-5 Years of CAD Drafting experience
- High School Graduate or equivalent
- Demonstrated ability to create, edit, and maintain drawings
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills
- Ability to read construction drawings
- Proficient with the use of computers, including email, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Office programs
- Excellent customer relationship and communication skills; verbal and written Strong attention to detail, organizational, and follow-up skills
- Self-motivated, self-starter
- Ability to prioritize tasks
