Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Data Modeller to join a data transformation project focused on designing robust, scalable and business-aligned data models. The role requires strong hands-on experience with Data Vault 2.0, including Business Vault, as well as Kimball Star Schema Data Mart modelling.

You will work closely with data architects, data engineers, business analysts and stakeholders to translate business requirements into high-quality data models that support analytical, reporting and decision-making needs. The role is especially suited to someone with solid technical judgement, experience in complex data environments and the ability to define modelling standards and best practices.

What you will do:

  • Design and maintain conceptual, logical and physical data models for analytical platforms.
  • Build and validate Data Vault 2.0 models, including hubs, links, satellites and related modelling patterns.
  • Design and document Business Vault structures to support business rules, derived data, calculations and historisation.
  • Create Kimball Star Schema Data Marts, including facts, dimensions, conformed dimensions and reporting-ready structures.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable, traceable and reusable data models.
  • Collaborate with data architects, data engineers, business analysts and reporting teams to align modelling decisions with platform and business needs.
  • Use modelling tools such as Lucidchart to document and communicate data models clearly.
  • Support data lineage, traceability, maintainability and governance across the data model lifecycle.
  • Review existing models and propose improvements based on performance, scalability, usability and data quality considerations.
  • Contribute senior modelling expertise, best practices and technical guidance within the delivery team.

Qualifications

Required:

  • C1 English proficiency
  • Senior-level experience as a Data Modeller
  • Strong hands-on experience with Data Vault 2.0 methodology.
  • Experience designing Business Vault components and understanding how business rules are represented in Data Vault.
  • Solid experience with Kimball Star Schema Data Mart modelling.
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modelling and analytical data structures.
  • Ability to design hubs, links, satellites, dimensions, facts and related model components.
  • Experience translating business requirements into conceptual, logical and physical data models.
  • Experience documenting models using Lucidchart or similar modelling tools.
  • Strong communication skills to explain modelling decisions to both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Ability to work autonomously in complex data environments.

Nice to have:

  • Experience in banking, financial services or highly regulated environments.
  • Experience with enterprise data platforms, data lakes, lakehouse architectures or cloud-based data warehouses.
  • Knowledge of data governance, lineage, metadata management and model documentation standards.
  • Familiarity with SQL and data profiling to validate modelling assumptions.
  • Experience working with BI, reporting or analytics teams.
  • Experience in Agile delivery environments.
  • Previous experience defining modelling standards or mentoring other data professionals.
