Job description

We're growing and are looking for an experienced and highly organised Legal PA to join our Sydney team, supporting Partner Aaron Goonrey and team of lawyers.

The role 

you will provide high-quality legal and administrative support, helping to ensure the practice operates efficiently and delivers an exceptional client experience. Working closely with Aaron and the wider team, you will become a trusted member of the practice, managing competing priorities with professionalism, initiative, and attention to detail.

Beyond your immediate team, you'll be part of a collaborative and well-connected Legal Assistant community across the firm, with opportunities to contribute to initiatives that promote wellbeing, diversity and inclusion, professional development, and social connection.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Proactively managing complex inboxes, diaries, meetings and travel arrangements.

  • Coordinating matter administration, including engagement processes, compliance requirements and file management.

  • Building strong relationships with clients and supporting client events and business development activities.

  • Managing billing processes from end to end, ensuring invoicing requirements and deadlines are met.

  • Preparing and formatting correspondence, presentations, reports and other legal documents.

  • Coordinating document production and assisting with the delivery of client work.

  • Providing guidance and support to junior team members and contributing to broader practice administration as required.

This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.30pm, with flexibility to work from home one day per week.

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • 3-8 years' experience as a Legal Assistant or Legal PA within a law firm environment.

  • Demonstrated experience supporting a Partner and team of lawyers in a fast-paced practice.

  • Proven end-to-end billing experience; exposure to Aderant will be highly regarded.

  • Strong proficiency across the Microsoft Office suite and confidence working with legal systems and technology.

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with exceptional attention to detail.

  • The ability to manage multiple priorities while remaining calm, responsive and client focused.

  • A proactive and collaborative approach, with the confidence to work independently when required.

  • Professionalism, discretion and a can-do-attitude.
