DevOps Engineer - AWS

About CodeRoad

CodeRoad provides end-to-end software development services, helping businesses scale with ideal infrastructure solutions. From staff augmentation to dedicated IT teams and general software engineering, our nearshore technology services empower businesses to thrive in an ever-evolving digital landscape.

About the Role

As a DevOps Engineer (L2/L3) at CodeRoad, you will serve as the technical backbone of our client's cloud infrastructure operations and deployment ecosystem. You will bridge the gap between initial incident detection and advanced architecture, taking full ownership of deep-dive operational troubleshooting, infrastructure health, and performance tuning across complex cloud environments. Working directly with modern deployment pipelines and AWS services, you will ensure seamless release cycles, secure access controls, and robust cloud reliability.

This role is critical to maintaining zero-downtime operations, driving cloud efficiency, and accelerating software release velocity across high-performing PODs. By anchoring our infrastructure operational strategy, performing rigorous Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and automating manual maintenance tasks, you will directly safeguard platform stability while enabling product engineering teams to scale smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Anchor deep-dive technical troubleshooting, incident resolution, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for complex AWS infrastructure and application-level issues.
  • Build and maintain continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines to guarantee reliable, automated, and swift releases.
  • Design and refine Infrastructure as Code (IaC) modules using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation to drive consistent provisioning across environments.
  • Optimize cloud resources, load balancers, container orchestration systems, and database connection pools for maximum performance and cost efficiency.
  • Lead observability and monitoring initiatives by leveraging logs, traces, and metrics to proactively mitigate security vulnerabilities and system bottlenecks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional development teams to integrate DevSecOps practices, troubleshoot container deployments (Docker/EKS), and implement strict IAM governance.

Requirements

  • 3–6+ years of experience in Cloud Infrastructure, Operations, or DevOps roles (Level 2 or Level 3 proficiency).
  • Tech Stack: Hands-on mastery of AWS core services (EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, ECS/EKS, Route 53, CloudWatch), Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform or CloudFormation, and modern CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins).
  • Strong background in Linux system administration, shell scripting (Bash, Python), and network configuration (VPCs, Subnets, Security Groups).
  • Proven experience conducting root cause analysis and implementing permanent fixes to minimize platform downtime.
  • Strong Ownership Mindset, with high problem-solving autonomy and an proactive approach to technical challenges.
  • Advanced English (written and spoken) is required, as you will directly collaborate with US-based teams and stakeholders.

Nice to Have

  • Active AWS Certifications (e.g., AWS Certified SysOps Administrator or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer).
  • Exposure to AWS CDK (Construct Library L2/L3 patterns) for software-defined cloud infrastructure.
  • Practical knowledge of GitOps practices (ArgoCD or Flux) and Service Mesh architectures.
  • Experience with enterprise observability tools such as Datadog, Grafana, or New Relic.

What You’ll Love

  • 100% Remote work flexibility
  • Local holidays off
  • Paid Time Off (PTO)
  • Health insurance assistance
  • Competitive USD compensation
  • Continuous growth and career development opportunities
