The vStroke position works with a multidisciplinary team to support evidence-based practice with the use of established stroke protocols via the telemedicine platform. Ensures care for the stroke patient throughout the continuum, by providing quality, best practices support and data collection for stroke patients across multiple hospitals. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent our Mission, Values and Mercy Service Standards.

Position Details:

That's why you'll bring to your role the right set of qualifications: Qualifications for the Virtual Care Center are: - Education:Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program. Associate's Degree in Nursing. - Preferred Education:BSN preferred. - Experience:2 years recent experience in Direct patient care experience of Neurology patients in an acute care setting, Adult Med/Surg, or Emergency Department experience required. - Licensure:Missouri State Licensure, current RN Temporary Permit/RN. Multi-state licensure required within 6 months of hire. - Certifications:BLS, NIHSS certification upon one month of hire, and Stroke Certified Registered Nurse (SCRN) within 3 year of hire required. - Other:Excellent communication skills and able to collaborate effectively within a team environment. Must have the ability to independently practice and prioritize demands in an ever-changing, dynamic environment. Must demonstrate understanding of pathophysiology and rationale of special therapies of the stroke patient.
