Pharmacy Technician I (Specialty Outreach) - Customer Service - Phone Outreach with Data Entry

Must reside in and maintain an active pharmacist license in one of the following states: Texas, Florida, Missouri, California, or Michigan.

Job Specific Details:

  • Remote Specialty Outreach Support

  • Customer service-focused pharmacy technician role, with phone work making up 90% of the shift

  • Comfortable handling phone calls and data entry with a positive, professional attitude

  • Contacting medical offices to clarify and enter prescriptions

  • Contacting patients to provide updates on prescription outcomes

  • Supporting the Pharmacist callback queue by helping obtain refills and prescription clarifications

  • Assisting with pre-QA/data entry

  • Responding to email escalations

  • Staying current with required training

  • Computer savvy; able to type at least 40 WPM

  • Specialty pharmacy with Infusion and/or Oncology, highly preferred

Working shift: 9:30 AM - 6 PM Monday - Friday (Central/CST)

Position Purpose:
Work with the Pharmacists to accurately prepare prescription orders in a timely manner.

  • Interact with various departments to provide accurately dispensed prescriptions on a timely basis

  • Work under direct supervision of a pharmacist

  • Perform prescription data entry functions (preQA) by viewing images and inputting prescription information directly into the system

  • Prepare and submit request for prescription refills

  • Initiate clarification requests

  • Receive verbal instructions from prescribers as allowed by pharmacy regulation

  • Complete reorder processing for the timely filling of prescription refills

  • Comply with safety, quality assurance, accreditation, legal, state, and federal regulatory requirements, and company policies

  • Complete work list according to guidelines set by Manager

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Complies with all policies and standards.

Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. 1+ years of pharmacy technician or medical office (i.e. biller, coder, office assistance, or prior authorization/certification) experience. Familiarity with drugs commonly used to treat chronic/debilitating illnesses.

Licenses/Certifications (AcariaHealth): State pharmacy technician license relative to where the assigned pharmacy is located. License required at the time of hire. Must reside in and hold an active pharmacy technician license in TX, FL, MO, CA, or MI.

Pay Range: $15.87 - $27.25 per hour

Benefits may be subject to program eligibility.
