The ServiceNow Platform Engineer serves as a key technical resource within the Enterprise Service Management team, owning the administration, configuration, governance, and continuous improvement of the enterprise ServiceNow platform. This role is responsible for ensuring the platform remains secure, scalable, and aligned with business objectives while enabling enterprise-wide digital workflows, automation, and service delivery. The Platform Engineer combines strong technical expertise with platform ownership, partnering with business stakeholders and technical teams to deliver reliable, maintainable, and innovative ServiceNow solutions that support Fullsteam's continued growth and acquisition strategy.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Own the day-to-day administration, configuration, and operational health of the enterprise ServiceNow platform, ensuring high availability, stability, security, and performance.
- Configure, maintain, and enhance core ServiceNow applications including Incident, Problem, Change, Asset, CMDB, Service Catalog, Knowledge Management, Request Management, and other enterprise platform capabilities.
- Design, develop, and maintain workflows, Flow Designer automations, business rules, UI policies, client scripts, notifications, and platform configurations that improve operational efficiency and reduce manual effort.
- Develop and maintain integrations between ServiceNow and enterprise systems using REST APIs, Integration Hub, MID Servers, and other supported integration technologies.
- Lead platform governance by implementing ServiceNow best practices, maintaining security controls, access management, instance standards, and configuration consistency across development, testing, and production environments.
- Perform platform upgrades, patch management, release validation, and ongoing maintenance activities while minimizing business disruption and ensuring compatibility with existing customizations.
- Monitor platform health, system performance, integrations, scheduled jobs, and platform analytics to proactively identify opportunities for optimization, automation, and continuous improvement.
- Partner with Corporate IT, Infrastructure, Security, and business stakeholders to gather requirements, design scalable platform solutions, and support enterprise digital transformation initiatives.
- Provide advanced technical support and platform administration for ServiceNow users, troubleshoot complex platform issues, and serve as an escalation point for system-related incidents.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, platform standards, operational procedures, knowledge articles, and administrator documentation to improve long-term platform supportability.
- Support compliance initiatives, audit requests, disaster recovery planning, and platform governance activities while ensuring adherence to organizational policies and ITIL best practices.
- Evaluate new ServiceNow capabilities, applications, and platform features, providing recommendations that improve business value while reducing administrative overhead and technical debt.
- Leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) to scale capabilities and deployment, while minimizing deliverable timelines and verifying accuracy of AI-augmented solutions.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of ServiceNow platform architecture, administration, configuration, and enterprise platform governance.
- Extensive experience administering ServiceNow ITSM, Service Catalog, CMDB, ITOM, Workflow Automation, and related platform capabilities.
- Strong proficiency with JavaScript, Glide APIs, Flow Designer, Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Policies, Script Includes, and advanced platform scripting.
- Experience designing and supporting enterprise integrations using REST APIs, SOAP services, Integration Hub, MID Servers, and third-party applications.
- Working knowledge of Service Portal, Mobile applications, App Engine, custom application development, and platform extensibility.
- Understanding of ServiceNow security architecture, ACLs, user administration, role-based access controls, and platform compliance best practices.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills with the ability to resolve complex platform issues efficiently.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration skills with both technical and business stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to balance operational support with strategic platform improvements while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced enterprise environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Minimum of four years of recent hands-on ServiceNow administration experience supporting mid-to-large enterprise environments.
- Strong experience administering and configuring ServiceNow ITSM modules, Service Catalog, CMDB, workflow automation, and platform integrations.
- Experience performing ServiceNow platform upgrades, patch management, release validation, and production support activities.
- Working knowledge of JavaScript, Glide APIs, REST/SOAP APIs, HTML, CSS, and AngularJS within the ServiceNow platform.
- Experience implementing ITIL-based service management processes and platform governance standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA).
- ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) in ITSM, ITOM, CMDB, or related product areas.
- ITIL v3 or ITIL 4 Foundation Certification.
- Experience with ServiceNow App Engine, Integration Hub, Service Portal, Mobile, and custom scoped application development.
- Experience supporting additional ServiceNow products including ITOM, HR Service Delivery, SecOps, GRC, Strategic Portfolio Management, or Performance Analytics.
- Experience integrating ServiceNow with Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, Azure, and other enterprise cloud platforms.
- Experience with Atlassian products including Jira, Confluence, and Statuspage.
- Experience supporting enterprise platform governance, platform optimization initiatives, and digital transformation programs within a multi-business-unit organization.
Salary range: $90,000 - $110,000 USD
