The Opportunity...
Commvault is seeking a strategic Senior Director of Product Management to define and lead the company's product strategy across routes to market, managed service providers, hyperscaler ecosystems, and product-led growth. This executive will shape how customers discover, evaluate, purchase, adopt, and expand their use of Commvault across direct, partner-led, managed service, cloud marketplace, and product-led channels, connecting customer insights, product strategy, ecosystem partnerships, and commercial models into scalable paths for growth.
The role will oversee the strategic direction of Commvault's managed service provider product portfolio and cloud-native integrations with Microsoft Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud, determining where Commvault should build, partner, integrate, or differentiate. Leading an integrated strategy across routes to market, commercial models, managed service provider platforms, hyperscaler ecosystems, marketplaces, and product-led growth, this leader will ensure these areas operate as a unified growth engine aligned with Commvault's broader platform, portfolio, and corporate priorities. A core focus will be leveraging product telemetry, customer behavior, and usage insights to understand how customers realize value, guiding product innovation, simplifying customer experiences, and identifying new opportunities for adoption and expansion.
The successful candidate is a strategic product executive who operates across product, technology, business models, ecosystem partnerships, and go-to-market strategy, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders, drive organizational alignment, and build a high-performing product organization capable of launching and scaling new businesses and product categories.
What You'll Do...
Routes-to-Market Product Strategy
- Establish the product strategy for how Commvault solutions are discovered, purchased, deployed, consumed, and expanded across customer segments and channels — direct enterprise sales, managed services, channel partners, cloud marketplaces, and self-service adoption.
- Shape packaging, pricing, entitlements, trials, subscriptions, and consumption models based on customer needs and market dynamics.
- Partner with sales, marketing, finance, channel, customer success, and corporate strategy leaders to align product investments with priority growth motions.
- Evaluate new routes to market and business models that expand Commvault's addressable market and simplify customer acquisition, onboarding, and expansion.
Managed Service Provider Product Strategy
- Own the strategic direction of Commvault's global MSP product portfolio, defining how MSPs build, operate, and scale profitable cyber-resilience and data-protection services.
- Shape the platform strategy for multi-tenancy, delegated administration, automation, service packaging, consumption visibility, and operational scale.
- Develop differentiated strategies for global service providers, regional MSPs, distributors, aggregators, and emerging cloud service partners — connecting product strategy to partner acquisition, revenue growth, and service-provider economics.
- Build executive relationships with strategic MSPs and ensure their requirements influence core platform, architecture, security, and product experience decisions.
Hyperscaler and Cloud Ecosystem Strategy
- Define Commvault's product and ecosystem strategy across Microsoft Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud — including cloud-native experiences, marketplace offers, platform integrations, and joint solutions.
- Position Commvault within customers' cloud operating models by integrating cyber resilience and data protection into the platforms and workflows they already use.
- Build strategic relationships with hyperscaler product, marketplace, partner, and go-to-market executives, aligning product priorities with marketplace programs, cloud commitments, and co-sell motions.
- Evaluate emerging cloud technologies, adoption patterns, and competitive shifts to guide future investments.
Product-Led Growth and Customer Insights
- Define Commvault's PLG strategy across discovery, trial, onboarding, activation, adoption, expansion, and retention — reducing time to value and creating natural paths for expansion.
- Establish a product operating model grounded in telemetry, customer behavior, and usage data, with experimentation and measurement capabilities to validate hypotheses and continuously improve the customer experience.
- Build a comprehensive view of customer behavior — combining telemetry, qualitative research, support signals, and commercial data — to reveal where customers experience value, friction, or abandonment.
- Translate usage-driven insights into portfolio planning, product simplification, and opportunities for new products, services, and commercial models.
Portfolio Strategy and Executive Alignment
- Develop and communicate a multi-year product vision and investment strategy across routes to market, MSP, hyperscaler, and PLG initiatives.
- Provide clear recommendations on where Commvault should invest, partner, acquire, simplify, or exit — evaluating tradeoffs across markets, segments, platforms, and business models.
- Create alignment across product, engineering, sales, marketing, finance, customer success, and external partners; represent Commvault in strategic customer, partner, analyst, board, and industry engagements.
Organizational Leadership
- Lead and scale a multidisciplinary organization of product managers and product leaders across MSP, hyperscaler, marketplace, ecosystem, and PLG initiatives.
- Recruit, develop, and retain senior product leaders capable of owning complex businesses — supporting both established portfolios and new zero-to-one initiatives.
- Foster a culture of customer focus, strategic thinking, commercial judgment, technical depth, and data-driven decision-making, partnering closely with engineering leadership.
