Job description

Our Mission & Team

Our mission at HubSpot is to help millions of organizations grow better. Our Marketing organization plays a critical role in delivering on that mission, and we believe AI will fundamentally transform how we attract, engage, and delight customers.

The AIMS (AI Marketing Solutions) team within Marketing Technology accelerates that vision by building AI-powered tools, agents, and workflows that enable smarter, more effective marketing across HubSpot. We're looking for an experienced engineering leader to guide the team's strategy, execution, and growth.

Role Summary

As an Engineering Manager for AIMS, you'll lead a team of AI Engineers responsible for identifying high-impact opportunities, developing scalable AI solutions, and bringing them into production. You'll set technical direction, partner closely with Marketing and Engineering leaders to prioritize investments, and create an environment where experimentation leads to measurable business outcomes.

This role combines people leadership, technical strategy, and cross-functional influence. Success requires balancing long-term AI vision with pragmatic execution to deliver reliable, scalable solutions that drive adoption across the Marketing organization.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and develop a team of 4–6 AI Engineers building AI-powered solutions that transform marketing workflows and improve business outcomes.
  • Help define and execute HubSpot's AI strategy for Marketing, partnering with senior leaders to identify, prioritize, and deliver high-impact initiatives aligned with company goals.
  • Oversee the end-to-end delivery of AI solutions—from ideation and experimentation through technical design, implementation, adoption, and impact measurement.
  • Coach engineers in modern AI technologies and engineering practices, including LLMs, agentic systems, RAG, API integrations, and AI application architecture.
  • Build scalable frameworks and engineering standards for rapid prototyping, responsible deployment, and long-term maintainability of AI solutions.
  • Partner across Marketing, Product, Data, and Go-to-Market teams while translating complex technical concepts into clear business outcomes for executive and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, experimentation, continuous learning, and operational excellence.

What You’ll Bring

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience directly managing engineering or AI teams, including coaching, performance management, and career development in cross-functional product or marketing environments.
  • Strong technical foundation in AI/ML, LLMs, APIs, automation, and modern AI architectures, with the ability to connect technical solutions to marketing and business objectives.
  • Proven ability to turn ambiguous business challenges into scalable AI solutions, balancing experimentation with execution.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with experience translating complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for executive and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated success prioritizing work, empowering teams, and delivering results across multiple concurrent initiatives.
  • Collaborative, curious, and growth-oriented, with a passion for emerging AI technologies and fostering a culture of continuous learning.

Nice-To-Have Qualifications

  • Experience building or leading AI-powered solutions within a marketing technology ecosystem (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce, Adobe, or similar).
  • Hands-on experience with prompt engineering, agentic systems, LLM applications, or other modern generative AI technologies.
  • Proven success scaling AI prototypes into production-ready products or widely adopted internal tools.
  • Familiarity with HubSpot's marketing platform, automation capabilities, or data ecosystem.

Where You’ll Work

At HubSpot, we believe great work happens when people have the flexibility to do their best work. This @home role gives you the opportunity to collaborate remotely while staying deeply connected to your teammates and the business.

Our Flex approach empowers HubSpotters to choose the work style that fits them best, while prioritizing outcomes, collaboration, and connection over where work gets done. With intentional programs, modern collaboration tools, and a culture built on trust, we support HubSpotters in doing their best work from @home, @office or @flex wherever they thrive.
